Any chance we can purchase new dust ports for our existing tools to upgrade them to the new bayonet system? Ive already updated the hose end and love the bayonet for my newer tools and it sure would be nice to have that capability on all of my tools.

I know on many you can, but we don't know what you have.

Many folks are not sold on the new locking hoses. One complaint I often read about is when disconnecting the hose they cut loose a mound of dust on the table or ground.

EDIT: I kinda forgot why the port upgrade became available on the TS55 and it is to allow a dust bag to be used, not for a hose upgrade.
For the TS55 it is an easy upgrade. Loosen the screws, and completely loosen them near the dust port, slide the old one out and slide the new port in. I upgraded mine not for the locking bayonet feature, but for the ratcheting feature which keeps the hose pointed in the direction I desire...in theory. My D36 and D27 hoses all still have the old fittings.

I wish we could UPGRADE new tools to the old dust ports without this retarded bayonet locking system  >:(  [mad]

If you like the new bayonet system or not here are the new items (at least for Europe):
Some of them are simple plastic pieces which only cost a few bucks, other are complete aluminium bases like for some of the sanding machines RTS/DTS/ETS and cost more and are difficult to replace yourself.

+1  Seems like Festool tried to solve a non-existent problem and created a new one.....

Same sentiment here. I just tried connecting my new RO 90 to my CTL SYS.  It was an awful experience trying to connect that bayonet hose end onto the tool.  After skinning my knuckles a few times, I reverted to my non-new style CT 36 and the hose went on just fine.

FS it's not too late to acknowledge the new design is a fail.  Please go back and unfix a problem that really wasn't there  [sad]
