Put final coat of finish on the walnut face frames, doors and drawers tonight. Home - made Danish oil really brings out the walnut. Cabin getting craned on foundation tomorrow, so will soon be time to install the cabinets.

I bought into festool big time and used kitchen project as the justification. (Not hard to find excuse to buy new tools). I have been super impressed with all of the tools. Used Dominos on all drawer boxes (domidrawers) and door / drawer frames. Used pocket joinery for face frames, hard to beat simplicity and tightness of joints with pocket screws.

I used LR32 to drill all of the shelf pin holes on uppers, and the utility of the MFT has made the sanding and general assembly process really nice.

Next step is to assemble doors and drawers on lowers and get ready for install. I also have all boxes for uppers complete and have to gear up for face frames, and doors. Running out of staging room in the shop.

Hi to all and thanks for the encouragement. I wasn't sure about the combination, but like many projects you work with what you have. I ran across a large load of walnut for great price and I knew I wanted to use some barn wood in the design. After some experimenting with finish, decided on clear poly on the chestnut panels to keep them light and the home- made Danish oil mixture really brings the walnut out.

I continue to get great tips and lessons learned from fog members, and is nice to see other projects from people around the world with similar interest.
