Just saw this image on the Festool UK site, looks like an improved EHL65. Nice to finally have a plug-it cord and the grip looks identical to the material on the drill/driver grips. Haven't seen any other images yet so sorry if this has been posted already.

This new EHL 65 has been on the FOG before (news for 2013).
Also with a picture, but the picture has been removed by the operators??
It should now be called EHL 65 EQ-Plus. Where the "Q" stands for the Plug-it connector.

Strange why they did not upgrade the HL 850 at the same time with the Plug-it cord and the non-slip material?
But may be that's the other news for 2013.

I just checked, to the best of the knowledge of the two Moderators / Administrators who made edits (and stated what the edits were), the picture certainly was not intentionally removed.  There would not be any reason to do so.  It is possible that the original poster removed it but we have no way of knowing that.

Peter, sorry for the insinuation that the operators should have removed the picture.

When the new EHL 65 appeared in the "News for 2013" post from roumegas at the 12th of January I made a copy of the picture from the FOG website.

I once did get some information that Festool Germany did not want people or shops to publish pictures or other info of new products to soon.
Festool themselves probably made some faults with their websites.
I always thought that all (European) websites were published from one database.
But that's probably not true. Festool UK and France have published the new EHL 65 EQ-Plus.
And it's still on the Festool UK, but when looking for details it's still the old EHL 65 E-Plus picture and info.

Neeleman,

No issues or hurt feelings here.  Sometimes we have to remove images for reasons that are outlined in the Forum Guidelines, but we really do try to moderate as little as possible.  I just wanted to make sure that readers knew that if we deleted that image it was accidental.

Just another quick note on the topic... Peter, Seth and myself try to be very transparent in our moderation of the forum. You'll see notes on posts when we modify them for any reason. Sorry if one of us was responsible for losing the image(s) on the post.

That picture removed from all Festool sites, .be .nl .de .se etc and been replaced whit the old picture.. maybe they have the same picture source? the swedish site hade the new pic before but now the old..

its even been removed from the co.uk site and now its back! i checkt it when i post about it on a diffrent forum!

anyway i will buy the new planer and even hope they will update the bigger HL850 soon..

I actually think it is a soft material (front handle)  from the picture. They've also moved the button under the top handle and there seems to be some raised vents at the rear sides near the power connection.

EDIT> remove unneeded quote

On festool uk site its £264 same price i think as previous model.

Not long coverted mine to plug it, so won't be getting new model.

How did you convert yours???

you can buy the parts in most dealers.
mine has 3-4 on display
you opent he housing and wire into the conection where the lead is wired.
you can also cut the wire and join it outside the unit but that looks messy

This is want you need: UBS PT/PUR 360-PLUG IT 491144 or UBS PT/PUR 420-PLUG-IT 491145
There are two versions with length of 360 or 420 mm.
