I decided to order a MFT/3 to go with my Recon TS55 REQ. It arrived today and the box looked like UPS rolled it end over end for the entire shipping distance. I opened the box and as I feared.. missing parts and damage.  [mad] [crying] [sad]

That is bad, call your dealer and if he is close enough, go pick it up.  It is the one Festool that I was more than willing to go buy from a brick and mortar store.

So sorry this happened to you. There is just no excuse for that.

While I hate lawyers, this is one time I wish you could sue these companies for the other costs involved (your time and frustration) and teach them a lesson.

I hope you did not sign anything.

I thought it was now company policy to not ship a MFT.....

I had the UPS guy log the damage to the box before I signed.

SH-- happens. The MFT/3 is big and bulky and heavy, and one layer of cardboard is just not enough. I think these should be palletized and shipped via truck, but I am sure the cost would be restrictive for a dealer, especially as many offer us free freight in the USA.

That said, your dealer and/or Festool will make it right. Just a bump in the green paved road...

Welcome to the forum.

Wow that is bad!  [scared] I have seen some dings and such on these from shipping but the bent  and bashed channels ? ! [eek]

Yeah, try the dealer for some help on that.

I bought my MFT\3 from Bob Marino a couple of years ago and it arrived in perfect condition on UPS.  It was double wrapped.

That is terrible and pretty extreme damage. I have bought mine used on craigslist and agree that buying in person is probably a better way to go.

While I am not absolving UPS of atrocious delivery service, MFT and other items, Wonderwino as an example, an awful lot, a majority I suspect, arrives in good condition.

That said, in the past I purchased a couple of used items from forum members and I was forced into arguing with UPS about paying my claim of about $900 after the items arrived damaged.  [mad]

I recently complained about UPS. Yes I wish they weren't delivering MY Festool products especially when I saw my new REQ 55 fly from the back of the truck onto the front cab's floor. Of course there was damage, lucky for me it was only the liner. Then another Systainer came cracked from shipping where there was a hole in the box. Festool came though on all my claims which I contacted the dealer. They are an awesome company which will make things right for you. I think they should have a selection for delivery, as many have better service with FedEx. On occasion people prefer the UPS guy. Having had a business which shipped items, I never used UPS. Have had very few issues with FedEx in comparison. Best of luck!

did you buy it from amazon warehouse?
because it sure looks like one i returned to amazon damaged. i got my money back, so they had
to resell to someone....

The MFT was picked up the MFT today and is on it's way back. The local dealer has one in stock which I will pickup over the weekend.

The sales and return process was smooth as silk it's just UPS that I'm unhappy with. When I purchased my midi lathe they trashed two lathes before the seller upgraded me to FedEx next day. FedEx delivery delivered a pristine box first try

UPS has gone downhill nation-wide I guess... I used to get everything in great shape... I've had 4-5 boxes in the last 6-12months that were trashed.. only 3 required actual replacing or repairing, I got lucky on the rest.

Why what they did to that MFT is a hangin offense in some parts if the country....

Not like UPS is watching the FOG and will see this... but I should say my guy is superb. No matter what size or how big the delivery is, always placed with care, no damages at all. And Festool stuff comes in some sizable boxes...  [smile]

I got my MFT las month(In the UK), it too was delivered damaged, it had a slight dent in one of the aluminium tracks, ok it wasn't significant damage and the table works perfectly.
Basically I couldn't be bothered to repackage the item and send it back so I kept it.
It does seem to me the mft is not packaged well enough, if the item is ever put down onto a hard surface
without the utmost care the full weight is taken on the edge and I reckon more often than not it will be damaged.
It needs more substantial packaging, Festool should take responsibility for this, it would be easy to solve
in my view.

I bought my second online thru the ToolNut and they had reinforced the corners of the box with extra card board angle profiles. Arrived in perfect condition, despite UPS. It's all in the packaging.... And at least where I live FedEx is 10 times worse than UPS. It all depends on the delivery guy..... Still plan on picking up a Kapex myself from the ToolNut when I pull the trigger at some point.
