UPS just dropped off my new STM 1800 table

Received it about an hour ago.  Put it together very easily only 2 small items. One no hex key supplied yet the Festool video on assembling the table shows the hex key among the parts and two the screws that are used to screw the wood pieces on the large support brackets are tiny and have a really small phillips head.  You will need a magnetized phillips screwdriver.  Other than that very solid and really folds down to a compact size that is easy to store and move around.  Looking forward to using it the next few days.

Interesting, (that it has arrived), I didn't know the boat had left Germany yet.  Curious if Canadian ones came separate from USA ones.

PS - Pretty sure that [member=101]Festool USA[/member] didn't want dealers shipping these prior to 9/15, so that Canadian dealer made a mistake shipping it early.

I've asked my team if we can prepare a list of shipments so we can email our customers with a specific ETA for shipment. Since I'm on vacation it may be the beginning of next week before that can happen.

That kinda stinks that not everyone is getting them at the same time.  A shipment ETA would be great at least though.

I called FT trying to order extra brackets and they told me they wouldnt be shipped until Oct. Well ya got me all excited now cant wait to get mine.

It will be perfect to use in my new shop. Ill be putting it to good use  [cool]

Likely the file sizes were too big. When I keep my individual file size to well under 1 MB, I have had no issues with posting images.

Not to nitpick (though clearly I am), but having to assemble the wheels is lame. Even the cheapo wheels I buy off of amazon come assembled.

I would guess that having wheels mounted would add to the height of the box and therefore more $$shipping  charges based on size of package.

I think he is referring to the fact that the user has to bolt the hub of the wheel into the wheel bracket.  Look at the photo that has the wheels in the plastic bag and you can see they are all loose pieces.  I too have never seen wheels come like that.  Even harbor-freight casters come assembled.

If the wheel is attached to the caster then there isn’t sufficient room to bolt the caster to the frame.  I missed this in the assembly instructions and installed the wheels on the caster bases first. I then had to remove the wheels again in order to bolt the caster bases onto the legs. 

Other than that mixup the rest of my install when quickly and smoothly.

I assume they didn't just have the wheels assembled on it as that would make the box bigger then 800x1200mm (bigger than a europal).

Yes, I was referring to the wheels not being mounted in the hubs. I didn't realize the hub needed to be bolted to the frame in a manner that would be blocked by the wheel itself.
