I am looking for a US source for a preferably a Mirka Sys 3, as I want to one to use for 6" paper, as an alternative does anyone know how much the Mirka Yellow differs from the Tanos daffodil yellow which Woodcraft has.  There isn't a Woodcraft close and the ones I have been to while traveling haven't had the daffodil in stock.  BTW I know Mirka has or at least had a Sys 3 as I have seen pictures of them online that were in the UK.

Tanos yellow not even close to Mirka's .

Have you tried contacting Mirka directly about a case ?

Not so sure about that.  I have a Mirka systainer and also some Tanos daffodil yellow latches. They are the same color. I have Classic in both cases so maybe Mirka changed the color when they went to T-Loc, but ..................

I have not come across a Mirka systainer with an internet search that is anything other than a Sys -II

Here you go,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mirka-Ceros...torage-Case-/282064579971?hash=item41ac5bed83:g:8LEAAOSwnNBXWwNE

At first glance I thought this was a 3, my bad - Still, better than over seas shipping cost.

In Europe there are indeed a Mirka SYS 2 and SYS 3 on the market.
I have bought them recently from 123Lack from Germany.
- SYS 2 #MIN6532011
- SYS 3 #MIN6533011
The colour is different from the basic Tanos Daffodil version.

Thanks everyone.

I figured the Mirka was different from daffodil since every picture on the internet made it look like a deeper richer yellow than the Mirka.  I had picked up a Sys 2 for my 5" paper from AB's Abrasives which is the same company as the eBay link here, the eBay link has the Ceros insert but they have the empty ones on their site for ~$60.  Mirka has yet to respond but I don't expect anything from them really but you never know.

I don't feel like paying international shipping for one and since the daffodil would probably clash too much I may just get a black w/yellow Systainer from Lee Valley, while the yellow won't be exact there won't be much of it.  I don't need it right now so I may just let it ride and see what might pop up.

Since you have a Mirka part number, might be worth asking if AB Abrasives (of another US Mirka dealer) can order it for you.

I did this for an extra Lamello systainer.

Maybe someone will pop in on this topic that has both to compare. Or since Woodcraft sells both maybe a call or email could get you a comparison? Or if ordering something from Woodcraft or Lee Valley you could order a latch for comparison. From the pictures I see they look the same.

Guess I'll have to eat some crow then.  :o

The ones I saw together looked different, but then I don't know if one had UV discoloration or not. It was certainly a well lit shop.  I also assumed that Mirka just had a custom color done up for them like Makita and Metabo did.

While we're discussing it , how about the Fein systainers ?  Custom orange ? Doesn't look like the stock deep orange from the Tanos lineup to me either.

Maybe I can find a Woodcraft with both in stock at some point, one good thing is I can check local stock via their website and if they have the Mirka and yellow Tanos in stock I can call and hopefully not get someone that is color blind.  The yellow ones are new to Woodcraft and the last couple of Woodcrafts that I went to while traveling didn't have any yellow in stock.  Then maybe I am letting my OCD get the best of me, the Festool SYS 3 is cheaper than the yellow one at Woodcraft and the Lee Valley black and yellow one is the price of the  Festool 150 abrasive Systainer and would save me either buying the insert or building one.  I guess with the new "blue" and green systainers I have I had decided to move all my Festool sanders into those along along with Festool specific abarasives and try to get all the Mirka stuff in Mirka or Mirka colored Systainers.  This Pro 5 sander promotion seems to be working on me... I guess I should be careful what I wish for... a deal on Festool.

Thanks again everyone.

Don't know if this is exactly the color you're looking for, but Walmart has daffodil.
Daffondil Systainer

Not really Walmart ........ Woodcraft sold through Walmart.

I could be wrong about the colors being the same because I only have Classics to compare but as above the daffodil yellow latches that I have match the Mirka Systainer that I have . I looked at them in several different lightings.

On the Fein orange color.................. it is definitely dark orange. It almost has a very small hint of rust color in it. It is much darker than pics online show. And is completely different from the bright BTI orange. Not sure if it is the same as Tanos orange.

With the Lee Valley black & yellow Veritas systainers, are the yellow t-locs and handle the same daffodil yellow sold? I am wanting to purchase one to make a DeWalt systainer for a few tools. I think this would look better than a Sys III daffodil with black t-loc for DeWalt.

I think I'll be getting a Mirka systainer to house my Mirka drywall sanding blocks and 3/4" hose. This would work out perfect to keep it all in one spot and on the vac when in use.

Woodcraft offers the Daffodil Yellow Systainers in the US.  You can order online at Woodcraft.com or by calling customer service at 1-800-225-1153.  As of now, none of our stores are actively stocking these in the different colors, but they can special order it for you.  I have an email in to Tanos directly to see if the Mirka and Daffodil Yellow are the same.  Once I hear back, I'll follow up here.

Almost a certainty that the Lee Valley yellow and Tanos daf. yellow are the same. I seriously doubt that Lee Valley had a special color done.

You are correct Seth. I just spoke to Lee Valley and the yellow on their black systainers are daffodil. The guy on the phone also checked a DeWalt tool next to it and said it was a darn close match. I am happy. Time to order a few.

The discussion about latches got me thinking, I could just add a daffodil latch to my next Woodcraft order and then compare it, I can put the latch one of my anthracite Systainers and that has some Dewalt stuff in it, it isn't black but it would be good enough to identify it quickly and I would have a sample to compare in person without the trouble of trying to do it at a Woodcraft.

Usually companies do not license or let another use their Trade colors as this would be a big liability, in case of Festool, Fein,Mirka, etc. would not let Tanos use their colors to sell to the mass market without their Branding or approval. That's why all the Tanos colors are different than the registered or copyright colors from the companies that they do business with. I have the Mirka sys and I had brought it into a woodcraft a few years ago to get another and they appeared a couple shades different than the daffodil.
