USA Trip Happening!!!

Awesome.

Not sure of the details yet, but we're looking at Saturday 7th September @ The Tool Nut. Hope that's OK with Sean!

It's more than ok with us - can't wait to see you here! Please let us know if we can do anything to accommodate!

Just stumbled on this and I'm a relative newbie here, but I wanted to extend a helping hand if you need it.  I'm probably a hop and skip from Dave (about 45 mins south of the city).  During the week it's a little difficult, but I can swing some free time on the weekend of the 7th and quite honestly, I've been thinking of driving up to Tool Nut for one of the Festool classes.  It wouldn't take a whole lot of arm twisting to get me to pick you up from the city and take you up there on the 7th.  I'll send you my info.

That sounds great, or if anyone wants to take the train out of Grand Central either the Harlem or Hudson line would get you up here. I'm more than happy to pick anyone up/drop off - my car fits 7 - just let me know.

What a great offer, very cool.  [big grin]

Oh please - we have a member flying in from across the pond - a little drive is the least we can do! Now if only we have some NAIE (Not Available in Europe) items....

Thanks for all the responses guys, it's amazing.

I've had PM's from quite a few members (including Peter H who's driving up from Virginia (circa 410 miles!!!) which is quite unbelievable!

Hope to finalise details in the next couple of days...

Oh, and I'm sure there will be plenty of pics posted!

Jonny, just remember Kate isn't going to want to spend too long in the Nut  ;)

Ha! She's already said as much - she's planning to go shopping somewhere (I'll pass on those links, Peter!) whilst I'm there. Hopefully some members will come back into NY and have a meal with us both afterwards.

Completely understand! Just throwin out some options ;-)

This is going to be a blast!  There are a TON of Foggers in the area.  Talk it up and help make a trip special for someone from FAR away.

I have checked this thread a couple of times.  It is great that you can make such a trip with/for your girl friend.  i am sure you will both enjoy yourselves.
I'm no city guy, so there is not much i could suggest.  i used to go down into the city on my motorcycle to visit my dad who lived very close to the Empire State Building.  I would get lost every time riding down.  When i would leave to go home to Connecticut, even if it was into the wee small hours, whether clear moonlite or snow or rain, i absolutely NEVER made a wrong turn.  I did get a flat on the bike one time at 1 o'clock in the morning.  That is another story, but not this time around.

I do find it much easier finding my way to the NUT tho.  i did get lost going there one time, but that was because i did not know they had moved.  I have no problems now.  If I know when you folks will be @ The Nut, I guarantee I will find my way.  No wrong turns either way. ;)

I know you guys will enjoy yourselves.  I am sure others can continue making suggestions about the fun things to do around NYC.  Some have already made some sincere offers.  you will remember this trip.

Tinker,  why don't you come on down to the 'Nut on that Saturday since you know how to get there and then you can tell some more great stories in person.  I know that you have also been on my list of people to meet.

Come on Foggers!  Do something special!  Come on down!

Peter

I'll be there!  Looking forward to meeting you JRB!  And of course looking forward to seeing everybody else!

Ditto.  you've been on my list for quite a while.  I have a very dear friend who lives in Fredricksburg.  I've known her and her family since before she was born.  she is only 39 years young, but not quite as long as i have.  Almost every time we get to Arlington (our daughter), we try to get together and meet sort of half way somewhere in the Leesburg area.  One of these trips, we will get to Fred'sburg and will look you up.
I'm working on something for JRB for this trip.

Jonathan, with all the wildfires around Yosemite it looks like you made a great destination choice. The drive is a bit long for me so I'll be missing the meetup, have a wonderful holiday and I look forward to reading about your highlights.
