USA Trip Happening!!!

Very cool that you saw that Osprey.

Yes, not the kind of sight you see very often. It actually flew over twice (once in each direction, funnily enough!) about 20 mins apart - don't know where it was going though!

This was it on the way up the Hudson:

So glad you made the trip here and back, and enjoyed yourselves, meeting lots of new faces to match old names here on the FOG. I thought Tinker would have more brick or motar dust on him, even at 39 he looked pretty clean in the pictures... [big grin]

I was actually covered with cement dust.  my natural colors are blue nose and green beard.

JRB & Kate,
Glad you made it home safely.  it appears you really had a great time with some great pics to prolong the memories.
Modern cameras can store so many of those memories and you can put the pics into retrievable forms.
All of my travels many moons ago were stored on slides that can only be seen on old single shot projectors.
I had hoped to show you some of the USA thru revising some of those old slides onto photo prints.
Unfortunately, all of my equipment for doing that is obsolete as well.
A lot of changes in 39 years.  ::)

I enjoyed meeting both of you and chatting.

Yes, I was thinking that as well when I saw how many we'd taken. I'm (just!) old enough to remember buying 3 or 4 rolls of film to take on holiday, restricting myself to only taking 10-12 shots per day, then spending what seemed like a fortune only to discover that most of them were out of focus!

When my daughter was about to be born, I bought a roll of black & white film so I could record the event. By the time I got to around the 40th shot ( which was the day after her birth) I realised that something was very wrong. I'd not realised when loading it that the film had failed to catch on the sprockets properly... [crying]

And we you - in fact, Kate mentioned adopting you as a surrogate granddad, but I told her you weren't old enough!

JRB,

Im glad you had a good time.

I hope America was good to you and Kate.

Thanks for the photos.

I think we in the UK need to have a get together similar to the ones they have in the states.

It would e fun to get everyone together and put a face to the names.

It's a shame I didnt realize you were here yet Ron. Last weekend there was a bit of a get together at toolfest. Maybe you can make the next one.
