Has anyone out there used their duradrive drywall screwdriver for other applications such as for decking?
I was one of the lucky ones who picked one of the protool corded ones for $199.

I bought the 12V version when they were introduced. The protool rep said that the corded version wasn't suited for OSB or plywood either, a while later they came with the 18V version which ran at lower rpm which could be used for those tasks. (the 12v version doesn't have nearly enough power, it struggles when trying to finnish off a partly set drywallscrew)

For underlayment I use our old corded makita collated screwgun. I rarely do decking, but when I do, I use an impactdriver, (the deckscrews are too long for the makita, so I never searched for a collated version)

Be aware of the forward/reverse switch; it's in an inconvenient location and easily switched by accident (because of the auto function, you don't need a finger on the trigger so you naturally grip a little higher up the handle)

Thanks. Will experiment on a few materials but I suspect you are right.
By the way have you looked at the Quik Drive systems? Any feedback?
