These videos show the process I went through to create the suspension links for the cradle I built for my wife's grandchild (I'm still not ready to admit to the grandpa thing).

My first attempt at editing.

At times the feather board and guards are removed to video.

Tom,

As always you amaze me how creative you are.

But Hey Buddy, I couldnt open the 2nd video. Do I need a secret password?

Sorry for not responding, I forgot about this.

The second video should open now.

Hey Tom,
Just finished watching both videos.  These were great! I had the honor of being the first to hit thumbs up on both! I liked how you went into the detail of how these cradle arms were made and filmed the entire making of the arm. The process of how to make the arms, with just the CMS, was just as creative as the cradle itself! Thanks for taking the time to post.  This is a must see for anyone wanting to learn what a router table is capable of.

That is really a cool way to build a Z shaped trunion. But if I had access to a band saw I could remove the majority of the material in one pass! Then use the router table to clean up the cut. It sounded like at times the router bit was angry with how it was cutting the material. Also maybe a bit unsafe having pieces of the material breaking off during the pass. The way you defined the ends with the hole saw is terrific. And running the cut across the short dimension would facilitate using a band saw for the long dimension of material removal. Excellent video and I respect and learn much from your posts!

Thanks Kodi.

Tom,

The band saw I have is a horizontial metal cutting saw. I did remove as much material as I felt safe doing with my old jigsaw. It does not cut square. Yes there were some deep cuts, I did my best to avoid that.

Thanks for looking and the comments.
