using ts55 with ctl midi

If you have decided to buy another vacuum machine to supplant the Mini, I suggest you also consider those made by Fein.  They have recently revised their line to incorporate a variable speed function.  I have an older Fein Turbo II which I frequently use with my Festool products, including my OF 1400 router and TS 55 saw.  The standard Fein hose is longer and larger in diameter than the Festool 27mm hose, but is not anti-static.  This has not been a problem for me except when using a vacuum with my Bosch 4 x 24 belt sander which will provide quite a stream of static shocks if used in the winter time (low humidity) without a static dissipating hose and vacuum.  To my ears and those of my wife and my son, the Fein Turbo II is noticeably quieter than the CT 22 E at full power.

thanks dave i was concidering a fein at one point but everytime i accessed the're site or a link from f.o.g members from here in the uk there was very little info on the extractors, perhaps we dont buy enough of it here in the uk. i have only ever seen a extractor on a building site in the uk a few times and only ever seen someone with a fein power tool once! it seems here in the uk we're years behind europe and the usa as far as extractors are concerned!

That somewhat surprises me.  I purchased my Fein Turbo II circa 2002; it was made in Italy and its parent company is German.  So I thought Fein tools would be common in UK as well as throughout Europe.  Sorry for giving you info you cannot use.

they seem to be very rare in the uk, you rarely see a fein multi on site but nothing else by fein, its the same as festool, i have only seen people using festool a dozen times in 15 years! and the first thing people say about festool,fein,mayfell etc is its too expensive-they cant see how cost effective and time saving the system is. even with dust extraction i am the one of only 3 people i know that use it on site which is probably why most shops dont stock or advertise it.
