Vac hose driving me crazy

So I've got the old (year or more) green and black ribbed hose for my Mini. It obviously had issues with catching on workpieces, even on the catch guard track attachment. I put some aftermarket wire loom type stuff (the braided look) that makes it very similar to the woven black and green that comes standard now. It does not help a ton, but some. They make that anti-static hose now with the power cord underneath the canvas jacket or whatever material it is, but that thing is $340! My vac is too small to buy their boom system.

It's driving me crazy. I flattened an oak slab two days ago with a homemade sled and lots of back and forth had me going nuts. What are my solutions for this, preferably that don't cost more than $280!!! The tools work too good for this to be as frustrating as it is.

have you looked at putting the mesh  hose wire organizer over your hose. Many on this forum do this.l it is easy and inexpensive. I have found it works well. It has at least cut down the number of Rage moments

Sling the hose over your forearm or shoulder (depending on what you're doing).

Not that I do alot of cutting but annoyed the hell out of me (I'm really still a newbie but learning everyday)

I was watching the video by tjbnwi in the TPG30 thread (really great watching his videos - thank you) and I watched him wrap the cable and vac hose over his forearm.

Hppened to use my saw last night for a small reno job - WOW talk about chalk and cheese. Its so easy and intuitive - I did a dozen cuts and so much easier. Give it a try - you might be surprised.
Cheers

Have you considered just buying the new version of the hose? While I understand that paying for the $340 canvas wrapped and power cord integrated hose is steep, it's only $130 for the new smooth hose. That's less than your $280 number...

Are you shop based? Bungie straps from the ceiling and an extension hose work wonders.

I let this get away from me. I originally had wrapped the hose in the braided finger trap material. It still got hung up. I have a canvas hose now and it still snags on any edge. I'm going to have to build a boom arm. That's all there is to it.

I considered making a 4 sided square hole with 1/2" PVC rollers on bolts for the hose to pass through and designing a clamp device to hold it to stuff. IDK. We'll see.
