So I need some help understanding the Vac-Sys situation .

As I understand it, Festool has put a stop to the vac-sys,yet the Tool nut/ Festool products website says to pre order it.

If I pre order a unit to be delivered in February , will it actually be sent?
I have been wanting this tool for a bit,but obviously drug my feet to long.

As a side note, why would they stop making a product that so many people talk so highly about?
Perhaps a better unit?
Thanks for letting me rant,
Charlie

From what I have heard from my dealer the last shipment of Vac Sys is headed to the US.  After that it will be no more.  I suspect that it is not making enough money.  Looks like in 2018 it came to America for about $1835 for the set.  In 2019, the dropped the price about 25%.  Even at that, it's still fairly expensive (Probably not for the pros, but certainly the hobbyists).  The margin was probably less than they were willing to work with and therefore, it gets discontinued.  Simple economics, unfortunately.  [sad]

See reply #11 Charlie. I sense that even [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] is unsure of the exact quantities they will be receiving.

[member=9356]pettyconstruction[/member] All of the VAC-SYS units that we have on order are already sold, so we will not have any additional units available unless someone cancels their order. I understand how the preorder date can be confusing and I will get that corrected. That was the latest ETA we had from Festool to receive our next shipment. Since all of those are sold, we should remove the preorder date from our website. Sorry for any confusion.

In short, if you can find one and you want one, order it now.

I ordered yesterday and just got a notice that delivery will be tomorrow. They’re in a neighboring state to me.
I got a email from them saying it’s back ordered,which I knew.

I sent a email asking if that means the purchase will go through or to just forget it?
Wait and see I guess ,

Last week I ordered a Kapex blade pack.  Got the email saying it was backordered.  I emailed a contact there and they said most likely after the first of the year.  I got the blades in hand 2 days later.  You might check with Ryan there, he has been pretty helpful to me over the last 2 years.  Pretty sure they don't have much control over any back log but he might be able to poke around and give you a good 'go-nogo' answer.

I had already placed a pre-order with US Tool & Fastener (Shop Festool) right after the discontinuation announcement was made. I, too, had the question of will my place in line really secure one. I called USTF this morning and they apparently have 30 units coming in and if you're in the pre-order, you'll get one. I didn't ask if the 30 units is all of the two head variety or split between the one and two head.

I just got a email from them saying they have 14 units that are not sold yet.  So my order will be filled
Mine is the single head unit.
