Vac went down, what to check first?

Vac shut down, won't turn on...was revving up a bit before it shut down, I assume something is clogged.... haven't found it yet....
I assume there is breaker on the vac?  ct22
 
Ummm, yeah, I had that happen once.  Trying to remember what it was. 

I would start with the bag, is it full?

Then check the tube that runs from the CT inlet to the bag. The tube goes straight through.

Then go through the hose to make sure it is clear.

I do not remember having to actually reset anything (breaker) on the CT. I think it took care of itself after cooling down.

fresh bag, maybe as you say, it does not have breaker, just over heat shut off, might re-set?

In theory, yes, it should reset on its own.  That assumes it was the thermal overload protection kicking in.   
 
Yep, it fired up today...thx for heads-up...

does not sound right,  suction is normal though...
can something be stuck in the impeller area?  a slight roar is the best way to splain the sound.... works fine though...
 
Hi,

It resurrected itself but doesn't sound right. Quite possibly something is amiss and is also what caused an over heating  shut down. Good time to call Festool service or go through your dealer before it really goes down.  800-554-8741

hee hee .... yeah, its a missing cat!
my guess is, something got stuck in the impeller area...its running, suction good, so it can't be too much restriction....

The CT22 (and all the Festool Extractors) will do things that other brands will  not.  I remember when I first got the CT22 and hocked it up to a Bosh handheld planer.... well all of the sudden the chips were coming out the planer.  When we checked the bag was full and so was the hose, but the CT22 still had full power.

I and my business partner felt stupid for not checking....but DANG we were impressed that it could take it. Now we check the bag more.

The result of our  [doh] moment lead us to buy more Festool product because it is engineered so well.

Yep, the Festool vacs are great!  It's amazing what they can stuff into that bag.  Or a Per Swenson put it, "It packs 20 pounds of smutz in a 5 pound bag!"  :)

Like the Miele home vacs, it "sucks good".  For a lighter moment: Miele - vacuum cleaning dog
