I need to connect the tool end of a 36mm vacuum hose to the vacuum end of a 27mm hose.  Both the tool end of the 36 and the vacuum end of the 27 appear to be identical, at 44mm OD and 40mm ID.  What are my options?  Thanks.

Cheap and easy need it now, a couple pieces of tape will work.
Not pretty but it will work.

IF the ODs are the same then you need a coupling or sleeve that they both
will fit relatively tight enough that the connection will be leak free.

Shouldn't be too hard to find something that will work.

Thank you, Chris!  Another friend pointed out that the tool end of a 27 slips into the tool end of a 36 quite nicely.  I had an extra tool end fitting for a 27, so I took off the vacuum end fitting, and replaced it with a tool end fitting.  Problem solved!  That said, I'll probably pick up a tapered reducer just to have it around.  Stuff like that just comes in handy.
