Has anyone got or seen any good ideas for storing Systainers in the back of your vans ?
 
  i use bungee chords and/or straps, there is a shop here in town that specializes in truck and van stuff. Aptly named work truck stuff. Per-haps you have something similiar near you.

p.s. I have a van, and I'm a paitner festools are pretty tuf the systainers don't slide around too much, i usually stick 'em behind the sprayer, and drive careful.

Dan U do you have the Planex? or do you use any two stage cyclone systems for drywall, plaster, or paint jobs?
 
Yeah thats the sort of thing Jonny and thats even the same van I have a VW T4 but I was looking for more of a homemade one.

I am hopefully gonna get a new T5 Transporter this year so was gonna kit it out properly for a change. Need to be able to lock the systainers up.
 
Got a new 2009 VW T5 now  ;D anyone come up with any good ideas come on you've had a year  :D ;)

Nice Van!!! I'm driving a 96' T4 transporter. To strap my products securely down for transport, I fastened wooden slats onto the inside walls. Works quite well. For easy access to my tools I stack the systainers up behind the passenger seat and just wrap a tiedown around it.

Maybe I will find some time tomorrow to take some pictures.

i have a 08 renault trafic and am finding it hard to kit it out well i have so many tools its ridiculous i was also look for something for the systainers too

Aw, I'm so jealous! I'm looking at buying a van at the minute, but on a smaller budget. I'd love a T5, but don't think I'll find a decent one in my price range, so will likely have to go for a T4...

WRT your storage, what wheelbase is it, and does it have a bulkhead fitted?
 
Its a T28 red i, SWB and yes it has the full steel bulkhead.

I sold my old 2001 (51) T4 to get this, I almost had people fighting over it. It was in mint condition with only 43000 miles a guy in Weymouth bought it to convert into a camper he has a company that specialize in it.

Cheers Mattfc but I found a cheaper set on Ebay ?188 and it has the non slip Phenolic coated plywood floor but I think I will probably get the ply and do it myself so I can get it exactly how I want it.

the low emission zone in london will cop me a 200 quid fine PER DAY if i dont

anyway, doing the van out for your favourite tools total materials cost 100 quid and a days labour

(photos below)  THE LEGAL BIT............... the contents of the van are not included in the price

3 lengths of 3x2 CLS 3m lengths            under   6 quid    (10 foots)
three sheets 9mm ply                             about 45 quid    ( 3/8th )
one sheet 19mm ply                               about  30 quid   (3/4inch) (osb if you are really cheap)
gash 2x1 par                                                       0            (1x2 planed all round to our NA collegues)
gash screws                                                        0
gash nails                                                            0
pack of miller dowels                              about   19 quid  (stops the boxes falling out as you race round corners)

As an aside, I understand that phase 3 of the LEZ (affecting small vans and minibuses) has been suspended - here  - but don't let that stop you getting a new van ;)

Its metallic Off road Grey dont say Green my wife hates the colour Green  :D

Its a bugger of a colour for showing scratches wish I had just got the plain old Indian blue but wifey prefered the metallic grey huhh women eh  :D
 
Yeah we use "contractor saws" as you call them we have done for years we just call them portable table saws, I have a Metabo 250 but we have ones here by Makita, Dewalt, Bosch, Ryobi etc etc.
