i just wanted to say thank you to all of our Veterans who have served our Country.  Thank you for your service!

Agreed.

It's nice to see that some places like restaurants are finally starting to acknowledge the sacrifices they made.

Thank you to all past, present, and future veterans. You will never be forgotten.

Yes, THANK YOU to you veterans.  Thanks to your sacrifices, most of us aren't veterans.

Yes, thanks to all who have served.

My dad served in the Air Force in the years prior to and during the Vietnam War. Today also happens to be his birthday.

Remembrence Day up here, thanks to ALL vets, they gave there today for our tomorrow.

+1. For all the known and unknown who have served our countries, and a mention for Cpl. Nathan Cirillo who was shot at the National War Memorial in Ottawa on October 22nd.

This day is celebrated by many countries. It started as a commemoration for the War to End All Wars and to honor those who died in that war. Many approaches to warfare changed in that war and there are very few of those veterans left. England created a display of poppies, one for each English soldier who died, the 9,000th one was add this morning.

There are still many soldiers fighting for many countries from many countries to whom we all owe a lot to.

In the US there are many woodworking stores that are turning pens for the troops or supporting the Wounded Project.

Many woodworking stores sell shadow boxes for mementos. pen or pencil kits with a military symbol, and burial flag display cases. So if you know a soldier or vet, make a pen or a shadow box for them or ask then to help you with the project. If you know a family of a deceased vet, make a display case for the surviving family for the flag that draped their loved one's casket.

From one who severed and is thankful to those who continue to serve.

I was very fond of my Great Uncle, my Dad's uncle. He was a veteran of WW1, WW2, and Korea. I don't think there was a person on Earth that was more loved by dogs and kids.

My Dad was at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a Master Electrician and for an old fart that was steeped in the Depression, was one of the coolest people I ever met.

He taught me to fix everything with almost nothing - straighten and reuse all nails for instance. If they want to bend at the already weakened points, support those points with Kleins or longnose. We fixed all appliances, cars/trucks/machinery, A/V stuff, etc, and all without buying hardly anything. It's a lot tougher to do that these days...

I miss both of them...

Tom

A huge thank you from my family to those who have served and sacrificed and to their families who have also sacrificed. The world would be such a different place otherwise in my humblest opinion.

I had a peaceful, pleasant and productive day yesterday. I am thankful to all those who have served and are serving for making life under those conditions possible.
