Video Preview of Festool WCR-1000 (498507)

I like how Brice had all those tools on the WCR... shows a different side of it than I showed.  For me, it's more about putting recent tools on the landing pad area and having handy items on the top; since I work in the shop and not on site, I put the tools back in the Systainers after a critical mass is formed on my workbench (usually when I need the space and glue is drying...  [crying])  But, for job-site people like Brice, I could see it being useful for holding the tools after you've taken them out of the Systainers.  The metal peg board and metal shelf and stout pegs are more than up to holding it all.  So for people on job sites, the utility of it has to out-weigh the space it takes in your van.

You know, I'm liking the look of the Armor All on those tools, Brice  [poke]  Eh, I should talk, I hit my shop with a leaf blower all the time!

As for the stein, it fits well on the little swing out table; two, in fact!  Plus it is recessed to catch spills (don't waste!)  [attachimg=1]

Brice, what would you have done if the OF1400 fell to the ground [scared]. You had  lot to loose if the WCR-1000 tipped over or one of the tools hit the deck.

I was trying not to mentally calculate the value of what was on the four wheels.

Hey Brice, is the fully-loaded WCR much less stable or a greater tipping hazard when the brake is on?

Your secret is out, Brice.  Two sets of tools;  one for demonstration videos, and a second that you work with.  You're the man.  [tongue]

Thanks for the video Brice, but I can hardly hear you on it.  ???  I have no problem hearing Paul on his.

It could be my fault  ???,  but I expect that it is something wrong at your end.

Turn off your power tools and you can hear him.  Seriously, the volume level was perfect when I turned my speakers up to full.  (They are usually at ~10%)

Yes, I Armor All my tool at least one a week, doesn't everyone? [big grin] Funny, I recently sold a couple of tools (including my Deltex and second ETS125) so I spent some time cleaning them up.  I was surprised how some of cleaned up and decided to keep going, my Domino and MFK look almost new again.  It's amazing what a little water, a tooth brush, Armor All and 12 hours of elbow grease will do. [blink]

You could actually see a little bit of terror in Brice’s eyes as he hit the WCR.  Yeah, he was wondering and hoping, too.  There is obviously edited-out gasping sigh of relief and arm pumping when his Transformer-tower-o'-Tools didn't drop anything.

I worry about Brice now that he’s shown a world without Systainers.  That is dangerous thinking, and he might get ‘disappeared’.  Eep!

No terror in my eyes, you'll note in the video I said I did some testing earlier.  Besides, it wouldn't have been a big deal if the whole tumbled down, I mean it's only $5,500 on the WCR. [blink]

Nah, I still need the Systainer, something has to keep my tools clean so I don't have to Armor All them as often. [big grin]

Thanks for the videos. The Workcenter was not even on my radar to buy. After watching Brice load it up, it would definitely help to reduce some clutter on my workbenches as i work through a project.

I have a birthday coming up, maybe i can talk the wife into it....  [smile]

Would adding  boom arm be an accessory to far?

Go for it!!!  What the heck, why not add on fender skirts, a continental kit, and oh-by-the-way, why not some fox/raccoon tails for the Systainer radio antenna...

[scared] [big grin] [scared]

But I thought it was foil you put on the antenna to pick up that rocking AM station in the other state  [blink]

I had promised a video on changing the bag with the WCR in place so you can see if it's a hassle.  I got side-tracked on this side-job.  Anyway, here's the video plus it has a more 'determined' tip test  [embarassed]

Festool WCR-1000 Tip Demo

Emm, thats one way to do it i spose  [blink]

Na, pretty funny though.  If you had the 26 then i think changing a bag would be much easier.  It does not pivot on the front, the whole top half lifts off so i dont think changing bags will be an issue with the new vacs.

What a wimp, I have $5,500 worth of tools on my WCR and you only have a stinkin' C12 on yours for the tip test..... [tongue]  I haven't geared up in my hockey pads in years, every now and then I miss it.  I should see if my CT26/WCR and CT22/boom arm want to get together sometime and play. [big grin]

paul good video and thanks for sharing.  nice way to mount the work station.
