I’m in Toronto for a week and would like to visit a Lee Valley store. Anybody know if there’s enough difference between the three stores they have in the Toronto area. Enough difference to make it worthwhile to pick one over another?

Interested in both hand tools and Festool. Anything they can offer the woodworker.

TIA.

I would pick the Vaughan store which is the newest one among the three...may be four years old with the new store format.

If you have any particular hand tools in mind, you can also preorder them for store pick-up to be sure they have what you want when you are there

And, I'd recommend the downtown Toronto store at 590 King Street West store. Admittedly, each store is unique in it's own way. However, the 590 King. St. W. store building has a historical significance because it was part of the garment industry of Toronto. It also has a very unique floor where wide boards were sandwiched together instead of being laid flat.

LeeValley stores are pretty unique concept or old fashion new way to shop. I only visit the Ottawa store but I would guess they are all similar. Do not expect to see everything on the floor by yourself. They have all kind of displays but most accessories are behind the counters. Their staff are pretty  8) and they will be more then happy to bring what ever you like for you to see.

Speaking from my own experience of course  [big grin]

P.S. Keep in mind that all prices you will see are CAD and by buying at store you will be charged the 12% ON taxes unless you a magician  [eek]

If ever you come to the Ottawa region, I will be glad to bring you to the original store for a tour  [smile]

One last thing to tell you how cool are Lee Valley stores. They are the only store here beside pet shops, where you can bring your dog in to shop :)

Thanks to all. Made it to the Vaughn store and found the Festool Road Show trailer in the parking lot. They had just done their event the day prior.  [sad]

Enjoyed the visit to the store and found another location in the area, (Atlas Machinery), where the road show would be the following day,  [laughing].

Lucked into the Road Show and got to view a huge Festool assortment at Atlas. Life was good to me that day. Especially when the whole trip was to see our first granddaughter. Win, win, all around.

Toronto what a weird place  [tongue]

Glad your trip was a blast  8) the FESTOOL road show is coming to Ottawa today from 9:00 to 13:00  [eek]

Anyone comment on the Winnipeg store?

Will be in Minnesota this summer, and it's only like another ten hours to get some LV and Timbits.  [big grin]
