Looks like they may be discontinuing the VS 600 system. I've been thinking of getting one, but does this mean they are coming out with a new system sometime soon?
Mike, welcome to the forum. You're correct that we (Festool USA) are discontinuing the VS 600. There are no plans for a new version or a replacement. We will continue to offer accessories for the VS 600.

Mike,
There's a VS600 for sale in the classifieds forum here, for a good price. I would jump on it, but I already have one.
The VS600 is not as flexible as the Leigh jig, but its much easier to set up. Its other issue is that it won't work with 1/2 inch stock (needs thicker stock).
I use it a lot to dovetail carcasses together and it works great for that. Dust control is exceptional. Once you get it set up, its fast and easy to crank out dovetails by the dozen and they fit great.
I wouldn't worry about the product being discontinued. Festool will continue to service and support it (though not much is needed).
If you get a VS600, be sure to check out Jerry Work's excellent supplement manual.
