???I am using the VS 600SZ0 20S dovetail jig and cannot seem to get the tails and the pins to mate to create a fitting dovetail joint.  I am using 3/4" stock for the front and sides of the draw.  Is there a good video or clear, step-by-step directions that will clearly demonstrate how to use this jig to create a dovetail joint successfully.  Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Sincerely,
Mike V.

Good advice above.  Hang in there, the first time you set it up its a little hairy, but it will work!!

I must admit, I have a VS-600 that has been sitting in the box since the day I bought it, and that has been at least 5 years ago. That's very unusual for me. In general, I'm not a "tool collector". Thanks for the link to Jerry's excellent guide.  It might be the inspiration I need to get it involved in my next project.

Those of you who have taken your VS-600 out of the box --  [big grin] -- how useful do you find the doweling set up?  I have the templates for 14mm half blind, 14mm through and doweling.  I've promised myself that if I use it on a couple projects I can get the 25mm though template.

My standard advice for this type of question would be: Read or re-read the manual..But..
I'm going to take a stroll out on the plank here and assume that the VS600 jig has a typical Festool manual, that is to say the bare minimum of details and information is provided. Maybe the manuals are different in the US than what I have received here in Europe?

I used the dowel stuff and it worked great! I can't imagine trying to get multiple dowels
properly positioned and correctly drilled without it. There is no tolerance for error with dowels.

However, since I bought a Domino I have no use for multiple dowels.

That said, the dowel template is still useful by itself for drilling 32mm spaced holes.

I have used the VS 600 for making through DT drawers but it was another guy's setup and I don't remember which template it was. It works best if your parts are sized as a multiple of the template finger spacing. One minor issue was that I had to add a very small shim to one of the template positioning stops to get the alignment of the finished parts perfect.

Works great for doweling.  Bought mine wiht the doweling template and dovetail.  Haven't used the dowelling jig since I got my Domino either.

The VS600 is fussy to set up the first time, but it works awesome.
