Walko Workbench DRAW sign up (ON HOLD)

I know I don't have to, I want to. The winner gets their choice of prizes that means that if we have another give away the other prize will still up from grabs next time. And no, I'm not a big tool company that I know of either.  ;D

Will you participate with us? I am thinking if you and Henrik are not participating than I should exclude myself too. Henrik can join in just for the router I guess and you for the Walko. Matthew will not participate either I am starting to think I have no business collecting the money and getting in the drawing.

Nah, stay in the game Nick, you are just handling the registrations, the Dominator will be out of your reach of your mind powers...
;)

I had meant to send my entry yesterday, but turned out to be first day in two weeks that it was comfortable for my outside work.  I ache today and supposed to rain. Plenty of time
I see no problem with Brice or Nickao entering.  I see the way this whole thing being set up as a NO CONFLICT operation.

If I should win the second prize of PC router, I would like it if there was a redraw.  I already include a couple of PC's within my router supply.  If whoever should win the PC, I would be happy to send them a D-Handle base for the 690 as I never use it.  My introduction to the OF 1000 took care of that.

I have a suggestion for those (Nick & Dan) doing the collecting.  I have mentioned, as have others, the international flavor of this lottery.  Perhaps they could keep track of where each entry has come from.  They do not need to attach names to locations unless the entrants wish for that.  Just jot down locations.  I think it would be very interesting.

Another point I have thought about.  There is a level of bookkeeping that has not been mentioned.  Before we get further into thinking about making this a monthly, or even an annual, exercise, I think we should look into securing a Not For Profit tax structure.  I don't know how to go about it, but I am pretty sure there are some here with somewhat of an accounting background. I do know that I must secure proper paperwork (certificates) from those accounts that are non profit.  I keep those papers in my records and my accountant keeps copies of same.  I have not been audited in several years, but there was a time I had to produce copies of those certificates.  We are talking about a continuing exercise.  Sooner or later somebody will want a look.

While I appreciate concerns about some perceived conflict, I don't think anyone who's helping to run this drawing should feel it necessary to exclude himself.  It would be truly ironic and unfortunate if the people who are making this all possible (including those contributing tools) are the only ones who can't participate.  As far as I'm concerned, the same goes for Matthew, without whom this forum wouldn't even exist.  If one of you were to win, I don't think anyone here would suspect anything untoward, and using the Dominator would help to reinforce that trust.

Brice: that is very generous of you to come up with a back up to the router.
I did think of the Voltage concern and I think the best solution is either that the 2nd prize winner has the choice of:

a) taking you up on the offer on a replacement.
b) switching the 2nd prize with the 3rd prize winner, provided both are up for it.

I am still contemplating what the 3rd prize would be, it will be something small, but useful. And for convenience's sake not power driven.

PS
Nickao: I will not be entering the contest myself but I do feel that you should stay in the game, for sure.

I am off to to a very hard rock concert with my 17 year old daughter tonight! I am sure it is not anyone most here have heard of...

Wanna bet? I have a sixteen year-old daughter... ;)

And can I just to add my thanks to everyone involved in this FOG Lotto; I'm racking my brains trying to come up with something to donate as a consolation prize - I'll let you know if I figure something out!

Thanks again, Pete.

Hell, I'll send my $10 to Nick...

Thanks,

- Kit

Edit: Payment sent Nick. (Full name is Christopher Camp.)

When is the last date to enter?
I decided to make it the 31st of March, last day of this month.
Draw will be held approximately one week after that. The one week delay is to ensure that our list of entries and payments are up to specs and that Bill in Seattle has enough time to write the names on the Dominos and perform the draw.

As this being first of its kind here on FOG (?!) I would probably also have set the last date to enter to something like that too. But after the first week it seems like the entries are loosing momentum and I don't think we will see a lot more in the next two weeks+. Future lottery's could maybe run for a slightly shorter time?

Well the best way to open it up is to use it to recruit new members, but Henrik wanted to keep it to guys that already were on the forum at the start of his thread.

Even 1 per day gets 18 more people the way it is. Like anything else a lot of people leave it to the last day for no other reason than why give up the money for us just to hold it. Plus it takes time for the people who are mailing in their payments.

I think we will hit 50 and 30 days is a good amount of time.    ;)

I think you just want that Walko!

Nick

After this weekend I think I will have figured out the third prize in the draw; it will be small, but useful and cost well above $10.
I am contemplating making it a small kit with two-three useful items that are sort of universal, will see what fits my budget and what would be easy to ship.
Stay tuned!
:)

Hey Nick, if you include the three people who have submitted their $10 (US) through Dan Clerement (and listed in reply #14 in this thread), we are now up to 40 entries.
