Just finished up this bedframe after working on it for the last few months. Lumber was a bit expensive purchased as S3S since I do not have a planer. This project was also the tipping point in investing in a domino cutter. I wish I had better pictures from the side profile now that the finish is on but overall I am happy with the result!

Used pretty much exclusively Festool/Shaper Origin aside from my router and miter saw. I have a pretty small space without any freestanding tools so the system works really well.

Nice...really nice, with some original design work thrown in to boot...that's a bonus round for sure. Love the lines and love how the forms present themselves, not a fan of the "club monster" on the end of the bed but to each their own.  [smile]

The wood looks like American walnut which is common to use for rifle stocks because of it's grain and richness..it contrasts with blued steel beautifully.

Are those maple slats?

Your pooch certainly seems to like it.  [smile]

Curious why the "club monster" is visible in several photos yet is not visible in other photos?

Very nice!
What are the metal hook type connectors called?  They look very useful for this type of build.
Regards
Bob

Thank you for the kind words! I should have done a true sketch round, but sometimes a quick sketch is all you need. The walnut slab is definitely a polarizing feature... I tend to lean towards clean and minimalist whereas the slab is definitely more ornate than the rest of the frame. It's not visible in a few photos because I was using the rear bed rail as a placeholder in the front for test fitting. The slats are made from poplar. The rest of the wood is indeed American walnut.

Thank you! They are locking bed rail fasteners from Rockler and can be found here. They definitely make assembly easy and I have heard they hold up well over time.
