This is my first post on this forum although I have been lurking for a very long time. I started building these garage cabinets six months ago and I still have a long way to go. It's a hobby for me, I'm not a carpenter, I just like building stuff. I have used prefinished chinese birch ply (this stuff is garbage, I'm not buying it again), domestic birch ply (much better quality), black melamine, black Formica, walnut veneered 1/4 inch mdf, Home Depot pecan laminate and Alumasteel. I have never built any cabinets so this is quite an experience. More to come soon.

Nice work, and I totally agree with you on the Chinese Plywood - (Total JUNK) who makes plywood with overlapping plys and warps every time you cut it?

Too bad more woodworkers don't give the appropriate feedback to the suppliers so we might be able to eliminate that junk.

Wow.  Great work -- especially this being your first cabinet build.  The combination of the wood and the clean lines make for an effective blend of traditional and modern.

Welcome to the FOG.  Really clean lines in your work and nice attention to detail.

And nice bike!

Is the garage also your woodworking area?  Curious what else you have planned for it.

Nice job, my first garage cabinets I also used Chinese refinish ply and never used it again. US ply or HD Roseburg melamine.

Nice bike by the way

First off... [welcome] to the FOG.

As others have said, nice color combo blends the traditional with the contemporary. Especially like the Alumasteel in small doses, it works well.

Do your good looking helpers keep you company when you're working in the garage?  Which one runs the track saw?

What model Bimmer is that?

I agree with everyone else your cabinets are very nice.  Almost does not look like a garage.  Definitely to clean.

Thank you guys, I appreciate your comments.

I'm convinced that Iggy, the black and white dog, would help if he had thumbs.

The garage is my woodworking shop too. I just have to be careful not to p*** off my neighbors or the HOA with my power tools because I live in a condo. No complaints so far.

The bike is a BMW GS1200. I must like German engineering.

Very nice job!

Anyone with what looks like a 1200 GSA ought to have a sleek garage-mahal to put it in.  Mine's an '09 GS in the Namibia orange color.

And the Epco pulls!  Very cool.
