Warranty Registration on Guide Rails??

Hey all,
Just got my first set of Festools!  I purchased a TS75 with 75" guide rail and a CT 36 dust extractor.  I have registered the TS75 and CT36, but I didn't see a warranty card for the guide rail.  Do these get registered?  Is the warranty the same as all other Festool products?

I tried to register an LR-32 kit, couldn't online, then contacted Festool and was told that they only register machine tools. 

Now looking at:

it says:

"Excluded from this warranty's coverage are:

Accessories and/or attachments, including, but not limited to, saw blades, drill bits, router bits, sanding discs and apparel"

I would have thought that the accessories, some of which are as expensive as a machine tool, would have a warranty.

Yes, anything classed as accessories can't be registered. Strange as my MFT tables are registered but, when I bought the MW1000 extension tables, they cannot be registered as they are accessories, although they are also tables?

Strange but true, no problem though, as in the event of an issue, Festool will look after you.
I always keep receipts too.

Check the product for all labels.  If you have one that has a serial number then they should be able to be registered.

Peter, both of my TSB/ MW1000's have serial numbers but, I couldn't register them, and mentioned it on the forum. I spoke to festool, and the lady I spoke with said they are accessories, so no reg.

If that ultimately turns out to be the case then that is a change.  But I suspect that perhaps the answer you got might change.  Maybe [member=41214]Phil Beckley[/member] can let us know from your side of the pond.

MW1000 is classed as an accessory so cannot be registered - guide rails will also be the same. If it does not have a motor then the registration process cannot be completed

This is getting confusing.
Both of my TSB/ MW1000’s have part numbers and serial numbers on a sticker as usual.
Because they have a serial, I tried to register them but, the system didn’t recognise the part number. So, I posted on here at the time, and was told by a few members that they are accessories, and can’t be registered. Fair enough.

A few weeks later, I bought some other tools and had a query, whilst I was talking to a nice lady, I mentioned the TSB/ MW1000’s, she confirmed they were accessories and no registration on them. They have serial numbers though, I can post a pic if anybody wants?

My second MFT was bought recently, and it is registered, a guy who works for me, bought one last week, he registered his too.

I know none of my guide rails can be registered, as I’m pretty sure none have a serial?

The tables is a bit strange though, an MFT carries the reg and warranty but, the extensions do not?

As I said earlier though, I’m sure in the event of a problem all will be fine

Does this mean later MFT’s will have a shorter warranty period, or is not effected?

Was told yesterday, obviously all Festool has certain warranty as you’d expect, and many products carry the registration type warranty.

To be registered a tool doesn’t have to be electric, and doesn’t have to have a motor etc.
It can be a power tool, or a module, or a table or bench. Basically, if the product can be used out of the box in a stand alone scenario, it will be classed as a tool instead of accessory.

So, the MFT tables will have a registration process. The MW-1000 table bought as basic, or with the TSB extension will have a registration type warranty too. However, the extension tables TSB-MW1000, although having a serial nr. Cannot be registered as they are an accessory, and couldn't be used on their own, not unless one end was propped up.

When I said there is a bit of confusion classing what’s stand alone, and what isn’t (accessory) I was told, the best way to work it out is, unless a box or package has been opened or tampered with, if that product carries a registration type warranty, it will have an accompanying warranty card. If a dealer registers tool for you, they will of notified you.

So, to sum up, if the product includes a warranty card, either the buyer or dealer can register it.
