Water Based Poly

I don't take on refinishing projects as a general rule but things have been slow and this is a favor for a friend of my wife. Of courses didn't think it was going to be the entire kitchen set (6 chairs, double pedestal with two leaves). Anyway I understand that this set was originally finished with a couple of coats of water based poly. I would like to simply clean up the surfaces, lightly sand and apply a solvent based poly. My question is can I use solvent based poly over water based poly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I checked there data sheet, it appears as if your process would work. They show an 800 number. I would call just to be certain.

As long as the finish is cured you can. We have done it on floors with no problems.

Thanks for the responses! I plan on calling the 800 number and moving forward with the solvent based poly. I can't wait to  have this project behind me, the furniture takes up way too much room in my shop! Again, thanks and I hope for the opportunity to return the favor sometime soon! JPF
