I was searching for something that came to mind after reading a post today and while entertaining myself during that unsuccessful search I realized that so much of what has been shared by Members in the past that may have helped someone else has gotten buried.

So, in the original intent of the FOG, which was about sharing information and ideas, I am hoping that this thread can be used to share great ideas from the past.

I hope everyone will take time on Wednesdays to share links to threads here that they have found interesting and helpful.

Very useful thread on ripping FF. Most of the pictures don't work.  Is there a trick to getting them to work?  I'm pretty new to using the forum.
 
Unfortunately, no.  The thumbnails were preserved in a forum update but the full size images were lost forever.  You're not doing anything wrong.
 
Tom's approach has been a favorite one of mine.  What I learned was:

1.  Take a scrap piece of face frame in the width you want and place it against the mft fence or any secure straight surface clamped to a table.
2.  Take another scrap that when laid next to the other will be in total greater than the width of a guide rail.
3.  Lay your guide rail on these with it up against and running parallel to the mft fence or other.
4.  Make your cut.
5.  The board under your guiderail is now your pattern.  Grab a sharpie and mark it.

from here on all you need to do is lay that pattern against the fence and then the board you wish to rip to size next to it.  Cut away.  The piece under your rail is your face frame piece and it will match that scrap from step 1.

I didn't know about Bob passing away, sad.
 
Didnt know about his father passing either.

Per is a very creative person, I hope hes doing well and i wish him the best.
