weather proofing fiberglass?

I know, I know, it sounds weird, maybe even idiotic but as Paul Harvey would say, "here's the REST of the story..."  My son's class got a fairly large peacock made out of fiberglass and painted it and applied some stickers to it.  It's pretty well done, actually.  Anyway, LOML decided to buy it at a charity auction, against my better wishes, (as if my opinion counted in such matters) so here I am stuck with it.  She wants to put it in our backyard garden area so it will be exposed to the weather.  I'm not worried about the paint coming off but rather the stickers which the kids actually painted.  Can I put spar urethane over it to protect it?  If not, then what should I use?  It's sitting on our patio under cover at the moment and I would like to get it moved to it's final resting place so any help would be most appreciated.

I'm assuming it's the epoxy you are most worried about as it has poor UV resistance. I think spar varnish should be pretty good for what you want to accomplish. My kayak building mentor (superiorkayaks.com) uses varnish over epoxy gelcoat on the wood boats he builds and they hold up great. I don't know his exact product of choice.
