Went by the Jointech office yesterday

and as usual, no one was there.  I know there's been some talk about them maybe going out of business.  No name was on the door, however, I could look into the reception area.  My digital router lift was sitting exactly in the same spot where I left it 5 months ago waiting to be repaired.  [scared] [scared] [scared] ??? ??? ???  The phones have been disconnected, in fact, I didn't even see a phone on the reception desk.  I spoke to the neighboring business and they said the owner and his sister rarely are there anymore.  They must come by and pick up their mail though as only one envelope was on the floor in front of the mail drop.  So now I have a $350 router lift where the only problem was with the display and I have no way of getting it back.  He doesn't respond to emails, nothing.  I even tried his home number to no avail.  I thought about breaking the glass door and do a smash and grab but that would have been poor form.  I suppose I could file suit in small claims court but I live in Dallas so it's probably not worth the $150 in gas it would cost me just to go down there to pursue it.  Too bad, it's a good product.  The original owner would flip in his grave if he knew his business was run into the ground by such poor CS.

If you know where the office is. Leave a message there with your contact information on it & let them know you would like to pickup your router lift.

I did.  I slipped my biz card through the mail slot with a note.  They know me pretty well as I have purchased quite a few things from them.  Their Smart Miter is very good. Once dialed in, it's highly accurate.  Same with their lift.

Put in another note with the words "Small Claims Court". Use them in a paragraph.

Or, can you file a police report to get the item back?

i would send thregistered letter to the work adress and to the home address. i would demand your product back in two weeks or else you will have no choice but to proceed throught the courts. point out that it is only sitting there doing nothing and you only want it back.

That actually was going to be my next step if Ernie doesn't respond to me otherwise.  I really don't want anything else but my lift back.
