Wera Zyklop

I love Wera hand tools, just about the best out there.

I have used the Zyklop, almost ordered the 45 piece metric set, until I saw the price tag. [eek]

That Wera 818/4/1 Kraftform Kompakt is way too cool!  Jamestown has it for 30 plus shipping.

It's even GREEN!  [drooling]

Better deal:

Or buy two, get free shipping.  Nets to $34.99 each.      (or something else to get past $50)

If they worked with the Centrotec bits I'd have one en route.. as it is, I'm debating...

I picked up one of the 1/4 inch sets...fantastic build quality and design, I like it a lot, but now want the 1/2 inch too.  As for the Kompakt screwdriver set, anyone suggest which version is the best for all round use...?

Cheers,
Rick

But Ron, they're beautiful, and we all crave beauty... [smile]

All looks good stuff but I bought 2 Wera bit holders  and what a bile of crap they where!

They both didnt last more than 1 month!  The rings around and casing just fell apart no joke!  They just sprung off this then stopped me from removing my bit so I had to pick up the green ring and black bits and pusch them back on to get my bit out and I swore at both of them and said im never buying anything wera again  its crap.  Looking at the video looks like good stuff but so did the bit holders  so I wont be buying any of it untill I get my hand on the stuff and try it out for my self.

Same as me, i bought the Wera Impaktor, what a waste of money. The bit holder is c**p and the bits lasted no longer than 50p bits..

John..

Yes but was it the Impaktor holder?  [big grin]

John..

i have one of those ones for the impact driver. came with 6-7 bits. i only use wera bits in it and iv only brock 4-5 bits in the last 2 years. i used to break 4-5 bits a wekk before that. its one of the best little bits that i bought. the black and green bits brock off but that was my fault as i used it against some sharp metal.
i would reconmend it to anyone even at the high price

mine says its designed for the impact

Does the Wera lasertip cutting or the diamond dusting of tips make a real difference in use?

I've been eying these screwdrivers for a while in the local Bauhaus and been wondering if they really are worth the money?

Also does anyone have experience of the modular sets with interchangeable tips like the VDE Vario range - do they stay put in the handle when used hard?

I have been using the Wera diamond tip bits

on my last project and it does feel as if there is a bit more grip.  I have been using torx screws though,  and I would imagine that a true test would be on a phillips or pozi head.

I haven't broken a tip yet using an impact gun.  I did break 2 non Wera #10 torx bits in a row before I invested in these, no problems since.
