Wessel-Werk TK286 alternative to Festool Turbo Suction Brush, D36 CT (203809)

There's been some discussion about this previously and I have some information for those who may want to get direct confirmation.

• Festool Turbo Suction Brush, D36 CT (203809) fits directly onto the 36mm cleaning wands and onto the 36mm hose and is currently $169 USD. Those who know about this vac head know it works. I'm including it here for folks who don't know about it.
• The Wessel-Werk TK286, often found for $62 USD or so will not fit directly onto the 36mm cleaning wands nor onto the 36mm hose. It is listed as having a 1.25" diameter neck.

Edit to clarify: The Festool offering and the less expensive TK286 are the same head, just a difference of how large the connection port is on each.

I've owned the Festool version for the last 2 years and am completely satisfied with it. I purchased it from US Tool & Fastener for $170 with shipping so the same unit for only $72 is a steal. Besides, Wessel Werks provides a cleaning brush with theirs which Festool does not. If you have any pets, fur/hair will soon get wound around the brush and that needs to be removed periodically. Note the Wessel Patented marking on the bottom of the Festool version.

I have a Festool cleaning set which I use with my old workhorse CT22 E but the floor nozzle attachment doesn't work that well because the suction isn't great when spread over the area covered by the nozzle. The vac suction is fine when used with the crevice tool, smaller round brush or just the wand end, but its slow going to clean up in 2" swaths.  Will the rotating brush help with this scenario?

Mark, this is the result I get with a single pass using the CT 22 over cat litter on a tiled floor. This brush also really works well on short napped throw rugs.

Wessel-Werk offers a 32-35mm adapter.  I use these with the TK286.

A 27 mm hose can also be used with this extractor tube and it goes inside the fitting but it's an extremely poor fit. Actually it's a borderline FAIL condition as the hose fitting can be inserted but it's impossible to turn and engage the bayonet feature.  [sad]

My full metal cleaning set from 2016 is all friction fit and constantly falls off the end of the hose.  It's so frustrating that I feel my blood pressure rising slightly now just thinking about it.  I may need to search out the plastic elbow...

Now that's funny...when I first decided to purchase this combination hose & vacuum head, I pi--ed and moaned about missing out on the opportunity to purchase the entire metal set. I was irritated that I was forced to purchase the newer hybrid version with metal tubes and a plastic angle connection. Who'd have thunk that the hybrid version was the best option?
