So I finally got my yearly bonus and it's time to splurge  [tongue]

I'm shopping for a CTL 26 E DC & a MFT/3 Set worktable - what else should I get to accompany those?

My tools to hook up & use are: TS55, OF1400, Bosch mitre saw & a couple of no-name RO-sanders (hope to replace with rotexes in the summer). I've also got a FS1400 rail & a pair of the ratchet clamps and a cyclone.

I've read up on these quite a bit over the last year here and if i'm not totally wrong I should probably get at least:
- a pair of the clamping elements (488 030) and
- possibly the MFT cross braces (495 502) for added stability and
- the fancy cleaning kit with the D36 hose (497 701) mainly for the hose, but also to make work place clean-up faster.

I've also been drooling looking at the boom arm but that might be a bit over budget for now.

So what else would make life easier and you consider Worth It(tm) that isn't included in the MFT set or the DC?

You can't go wrong with the three items you mention.  The clamping elements are a must- they really make the MFT more versatile.  The cross braces do add significant rigidity.  I use the cleaning set in my shop freeing up the systainer it came in for my carry case for common tools.  I find the systainer mine came in too small to really use with the cleaning set (unless you are into "origami" type manipulation).

+1 on Davee's comments.  The CE are a must -- in fact, I have two sets as they add stability for longer work - a real help to minimize vibration when sanding on edge.  I also really like the cross-braces and think that they add a lot to the rigidity of the MFT/3.  I agree on the cleaning set to get the best value with a larger hose.  With all that said, some of the best money I have spent is on the Boom Arm -- it really makes hose and cord management a breeze.

A nice bottle of wine for the christening  [big grin]

When I first bought my MFT/3 and TS55 I thought about the Boom Arm, but thought it to be to much money for something like that and that that it would not make much difference.  After a year of stumbling around over hoses and power cords, i bought one - what a change in how i work!  It was like a complete change.  So strongly recommend buying one.  Some folks here on the FOG have made there own, I have very little time so i bought mine.  Strongly recommend one.

I was on the fence about the boom arm as well until all the positive reviews on FOG.  And I have to say, they were all correct! Boom arm, should be on the list.

I'll probably get a boom arm when I have my workspace sorted. Despite people saying its easy to erect and pull down, I have no desire to do that ... it'll be semi permanent on the CT36 (may need to get another CT for KAPEX as that moves round and the mini gets used for sanding and cleanup.

Uh, oh - life sometimes is seriously suprising  [eek]

I was last night going to press the order button for the MFT & VAC and by chance refreshed our local craigslist with Festool as the search word... and suprisingly one just divorced fellow had listed a bunch of entirely or nearly unused Festoys for grabs.

Soooo... I just bought a 4 month old CTL 26 E AC with the basic cleaning set and an unused bag, an unused CMS-GE base unit, and even unpacked CMS-TS55 module and an unpacked CMS-OF module and an MFT/3 Set for a quite reasonable price... So I'm set with the CMS gadget for my TS55 & OF1400  [big grin]

[thanks] everyone for validating my research for the MFT accessories though - I'll make that my shoppinglist.

...I guess I need to rethink the idea of a Carvex & CMS-module for it and find 400€ from somewhere for a boom arm [scratch chin]
