Hi All:
When I've ordered tools in the past I would get a Festool t-shirt or hat, sometimes stickers. Some actual Festool gear and some Dealer gear. Both are great. I love to help advertise for Fog Family members.
What are some of the dealer "Items" that are cool that would make you choose them? The prices are the same, The service is always professional, The delivery is usually "Drop ship".
I'm just wondering whats out there to tip the scales when making my (Pre April 3rd) purchases.

What do you Have??
Marc

I've got numerous Festool tools and all I've ever got is a sticker and that was only on one product (my domino I think).

I have ordered from several online dealers, and Amazon (both sold by Amazon, and sold by a dealer through Amazon). Not sure I would say any dealers are 'drop shippers', they keep inventory at their locations. I can't think of getting more than a sticker or two, I got a Tool Nut shirt once too (wrong size though!!, Thanks Shane-- [blink])

I think more important is the service you get. Will they answer your questions? Do they ship quickly? Do they tell you what is in or out of stock? Do they play games online with "suggested retail" and then sell at the actual price like a couple of online dealers do..?

When asked, I always suggest Tool Nut, Bob Marino and In Touch Tools. Those are the three I have used the most. I guess it also depends on what state you live in if you want to avoid sales tax, and how fast you want the goods to arrive. Tool Nut ships from NY, Bob from OH and In Touch from CA... I am never in a real hurry!

All of the Festool 'gear' like shirts and hats I have have been purchased, except for a couple received at end user training, which if you think about it, really were also purchased!

Also keep in mind that "free shipping" is not actually free, it comes right off the bottom line of a dealer's sales. To offer more free stuff like shirts or hats or whatever is just more money. My 2 cents being an online retailer anyhow (not Fetsool though!)

Based on your post, you seem like someone who likes personal attention. If that's the case, then Bob Marino is your man.
You can call him 10:00 at night and he will answer the phone. Try that with corporate dealers.
I personally spread the wealth around.

When buying my Festools online I already know that all or most dealers will have to stand up to the level that Festool would expect. That meaning its a level playing field like apple or booze. its the "get you in the door" products to incise you in that I am asking about.
I have worn out most of my whits Festool t-shirts like my sander, painter, ts55 and my blue kapex shirt. So I need to replenish my work wear and looking to see who has what.  Thats all.

I buy as much of my festool as I can at our local hardwood supplier, Sears Trostel.  They keep a reasonable selection in stock, considering the size of our town.  Most of the people behind the counter are well versed in Festool, and always paying attention to make sure no one is being ignored.  I've gotten a couple of Free t-shirts in the past, but the main thing is the follow-up service when I've had problems with the tool itself.

Online, I'd go with Tool-nut, just in appreciation for all he does here.

I see... Looking for free work wear. I wear my own company logo. I prefer to market myself and let my quality tools make me money.

The only online dealer I know that consistently gives swag with tool purchases is Beaver Industrial (festools-online), they give the option of a Festool T-shirt or hat during the checkout process.

I buy local, so what do i get: a load of free info how to use and serve a tool or change brushes etc.
Advice on aftermarket stuff thats' cheaper than FT or Mafell but just as good quality. For me as a non-pro its the only way i can get practical information on machines. Furthermore if i have general questions like where to buy wood etc., he/ they can help. To me, stuff like that is important, but ymmv..

"What also do you get when you order a new tool?"

A sense of anticipation and a nice warm glow inside?

Mostly I get...Jeez, there goes my retirement fund!!  However, since Festool raises it's tariff every year, at least every thing I won is at least worth what I originally paid.  In some cases, like the 850 planer I bought for $399.00 and have the bench unit, worth much more than my initial investment.  Festool addiction is much like my investment in Lie Neilson...everything I own  is at least worth what I paid for it and I have great tools to work.

The first few of Festools I got, I received in the mail a t-shirt and hats a few weeks after buying the tool.  I always thought that was from Festool itself, since the dealer did not give it to me at the time of purchase -- I assume they must have gotten my address from the online tool registration account I completed on the Festool website.  But after the first three or four purchases, I have not gotten any subsequent swag.  Just as well -- I'm not a hat guy.

I buy mostly from dealers in germany, occasionally get hobby knife, og som sweets, mostly nothing. But the price is right and the delivery is fast and efficient. I'm satisfied.

I used to be able to choose between a t-shirt or a hat when ordering my tools years ago. I didn't use them all for work. I have met many people wearing my swag that started as a conversation then tuned into a great connection. My friend Kevin saw me in line waiting for my paint to be mixed and I was wearing my Kapex shirt. (Larry gave me one when I bought my Kapex. He asked me about the tools and that he has read so much about them but has never used them. I invited him to my job site where I had lots set up and he came right over and tried out the tools and loved them. He always admired the tools but never bought any. This Christmas when the Pro 5 came out I bought an extra one because it was a great deal thinking that I would give it as a gift to him.
I gave it to him and he was so surprised. It is his first Festool and He really appreciated it. Now he has a big popcorn removal job and is buying a Planex with the AC vac. (with the voucher)
That all started with a Kapex t-shirt standing in line waiting for paint.

it was usual to get a festool sticker and a few pencils free in the systainer, that seemed to stop last year
