I dont post here much ( I think like three post) but I always enjoy reading what others choose to do in there day to day; Im a finish/trim carpenter in the south west bay area. I do all kinds of things but generally I move my stuff into the houses after the framing crews leave. I do some of the pick up work that they dont do, building skylights, arches, curved work, fireplaces etc.
After that, I usually start trimming out the houses and depending on the size I may be at work for 2-6 months. We do everything; door install, windows, wainscot, base, crown (single peice and multiple peice), false beams and the ocassional built in cabinet. Right now were shingling a house. Its a good job, but like anything else it has its moments where you curse what you do to the end of the earth.... but all in all, its fun.
