...when you need to bring it home.?

Did I mention that it's long?

[attachthumb=#]

And you live in Minnesnowta?

And it's only 37 degrees out?

And it's REALLY long?

[attachthumb=#]

Like over SIXTEEN FEET long?

You just stick it out the window and drive home, of course! After all, it's ONLY 37 degrees out. Might be an issue if it was actually cold!

[attachimg=#]

Couldn't pass it up at the closeout price from 7Corners.com...

When I brought home my 3 meter rail i got a sprinter van from work. Made it a lot easier.

Modern day Don Quixote!  I'd ask how much you paid, but I already know this score deserves a "you suck!".  I tried to get a 3000mm rail from them a month or two back, but they said they didn't have any in stock.  :(

That looks like people I see leaving the lumber yard. Usually in a small car though!
[big grin]

I have to ask-----why didn't you strap it to the roof rack????????? You could have strapped it to a 2x12x16' if you were worried about it flexing.

I have known the guys there for years, and they pretty much all know me. They decided back in February or whatever that they wouldn't ship this sucker due to potential damage and cost. When they sent out their email blast last night I made plans to call them when they opened this morning, and be there shortly after. I got it for 50% off.

I looked around for anything Festool branded that I could get and 'share' the good fortune, but they only had a few boxes of abrasives. None of them where granat. No filters, no bags, etc. They might have had one Domino bit left.

Sorry guys - I tried!

Edit - I just remembered that at 10 o'clock this morning they still had a blade for an ATS-65. Not sure which one though?

Good looking 3/4 ton Burban.

Thanks! It belongs to the wife. 1999 6.5L diesel.

I bought her a 2004 3/4 ton to replace her 1997, but of course it wasn't a diesel. When I found this one she immediately claimed it and I sold the 2004. GM marketing people are SUCH idiots for not continuing to make the Suburbans in diesel.

Because I didn't have a 2x12x16' or anything like it handy. Also, I couldn't watch it on the roof and I didn't know what the wind would do to it. We just took side-streets through town and moseyed on home...

I ordered the 2000mm MFS template profiles from them today...wonder if this is another case of stock not being updated on the online store.

Unfortunately, I'm positive that it is. They still write their invoices by hand (!!!) and the inventory is updated manually - and very slowly.

The only other stuff I found today was some boxes of construction nails for my air guns, some collated drywall screws, some 'great stuff' foam (at $2 a can - perfect for foaming the inevitable spaces in my shop insulation), some 20 amp GFCI outlets for my Festool Vac,  and the wife found a few 3M 'command' hooks hiding downstairs.

They had a few oddball tools from Bosch, a couple of Makita cordless tools, and some Freud router bits and saw blades. If you want something that you see on the website, CALL THEM to verify that it is actually available. There isn't a lot left, and there's certainly not any quantity of anything.

Thanks...oh well, it was an impulse purchase anyway.  Congrats on your catch.

Exactly why I have a full cab over lumber rack on my truck  [big grin] I'd probably buy that too if it was a serious deal even if I have no use for it right now, kinda falls under the big boyz toyz category lol

I mentioned it to the wife last night,  basically saying I don't really have a NEED for it right now, but I'm torn on getting it. She said "at half price, if you ever even MIGHT need it, how can you NOT get it?"

Yep = she's a keeper!

I just realized what you were ordering, and they WERE there when I left this morning. Keep your fingers crossed - you might get them!

Glad you got it home ok.
I had a friend in college that was transporting an art easel in the same way. took a turn and caught the end of the easel on a pole several stitches later he learnde his lesson. I would have stuck it on the roof rack or at least out the back and put a big flag on it .
Enjoy

It stuck out too far to the rear to be legal, even with a flag.

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Thanks for answering that question. I was asked about buying that rail several times. My thought was always how would I get it home, and where would I keep it. Glad that I won't have to ask myself that question any more...Well I think I am.
