What do you store in your Systainer 1?

I used a Sys 1 to convert my CT33 into a handy beverage cart.

I just scrapped the guide rail acc. insert a few weeks ago, and put two 6m tight coil air hoses, fittings, teflon tape, blow-off gun, etc.  it stacks under the SYS4 with two finish guns really nicely. One of the hoses is a lovely shade of neon lime green even. The other is blue, matches my compressor.  :P

I did the same thing, but use the Sys1 for my router bits. I wish I could buy the Festool foam insert separately from the systainer. I made one out of some foam from a craft store, but it's not ideal.

How about 8 of the small clamps, 8 of the large clamps, and 2 of the quick clamps. The heaviest sys 1 available ;D

Hi,

I am pretty sure you could order the Festool one as a part.

You need closed cell foam. If you can find a kayak shop most have it in one, two, and three inch thicknesses. (That's 25mm, 50mm, and 75mm for Dan,  Frank and our other Canadian brethren.)

AKA MiniCell Foam. This place has it.

Thanks guys - I'll check that out. I haven't been able to find a part number for just the Festool foam insert (and I've looked). Am I just missing something?

Andy tips on putting nice holes in the minicell foam?

I've used a brad point drill bit, worked perfectly.

Hi,

I would imagine that a dealer could hook you up with the insert (liner) if you don't want to make your own. I found what seemed like every insert part number for the inserts except that one listed. But maybe I just missed it or can't ID it. ???

Actually, a whole stack of bathroom size dixie cups will fit on the hinge side - I just ran out!

Just found this thread tonight. If I had your Sys 1, Wonderwino, I don't know if I would be MORE or LESS inclined to clean up? That is, I don't know how I would start out, but I'm pretty sure I know how I'd end up!

WOW, I see you have resuscitated a few dormant posts recently. Does this mean you are spending some of your convalescence reading through all 324855 posts * that  exist in the FOG.  [eek] [big grin]

Yup!

I'm not reading them in order or anything, but I am doing searches and trying to get smarter by putting my 'down' time to good use.

FWIW, i did spend about three hours (total) in the shop yesterday, but I kind of paid for it last light. I'm gonna try to do another 2-3 hours today just so I can keep on the road to recovery.
