Title says it all...

Please take the time to vote in the poll at the top of the thread. - You can select multiple choices.

It's important that we maximize participation in our forum contests. There's a fair amount of time and effort put into conducting contests here on the forum. I want to make sure we're making it worthwhile for you, yes YOU, to participate.

Any feedback you have about past contests, your favorite contest we've had, reasons you have or have not participated in past contests, etc. can be shared here or sent to me via PM.

Thanks for your feedback and let's rock out the next contest, coming soon.

I'd suggest involving Festool HO and finding a way to get "the rest of the planet" encouraged ... apart from the complicated parts of Canada  [wink]

Kev,

We, meaning Festool USA, have sponsored international contests on the forum. It's a bummer to say it, but the participation outside of North America was sparse. We may do another one that's available for participants worldwide in the future. Be sure to cast your vote, since it's a possibility.

In making Festool training/seminar a voting option, does that mean a prize whereby Festool pays travel and accomodation to attend a training/seminar for the winner(s)?

For the sake of voting, let's say yes. These are just ideas I'm floating at this point. So, the details aren't fleshed out. Let's gauge interest levels in each of the options, or other ideas that members might have and go from there.

A trip to Festool Germany?  [big grin]

Edit:  Perhaps a series of contests thru the year each with their own prizes.  Then at the end of the year all the eligible participating members would have their name placed into a drawing for a "Grand Prize" that would a trip, personalized one on one training, etc.  Members who participated in multiple contests would have multiple chances to win.

I think multiple smaller prizes is nicer as it increases the odds of getting something for the effort.  Random winner selection is nicer, too, since someone seeing a nice entry by someone else might not make an entry thinking theirs won't be better; with a random drawing, it levels the field... it also can allow for uninspired entries for the sake of an entry, but I don't think we've seen much of that at all here.  Carefully crafting the rules can also make that more difficult.

Problem with smaller prizes is which to make available?  I like the Festool Dollars idea since I wouldn't want to win a TS-55 panther blade when I don't have a TS-55 or an FS-800 guide rail when I already have one.

Something like tee shirts for all entrants can greatly increase participation, I think. In that way, nobody loses and certainly the advertising of the shirts on job sites or -ahem- videos can't be bad.  Maybe even a custom shirt à la CafePress that calls out the contest.

Although the odds are really long I like the monthly Festool drawings. The monthly prizes (at least) gets me dreaming about "what if".....kind of like the lottery". My vote is big prize, one, two or maybe three winners.....

How about Festool stretch tickets????? One ticket given every time you purchase anything with the Festool logo on it....

For what it is worth....

Have a great day everyone!

i would guess that the percentage of the rest of the world to the north america has risin in the last while.
hope fully there will be another worldwide contest(or even a eu one)

i voted for classes because they are very hard to get. anyone can buy the rest but no money can get your name on the list

for the usa market . i would offer all those little extras we have over here. like the floor mats, clothing, glassses, measuring tapes etc and other once off things like the  first aid kit  systainers ,aprons in a mini,

that way the prize is really desirable and limited to who has it. hopefully people will go mad to get one

I voted multiple smaller prizes. I would like to see the " Festool bucks" as the prizes some times also.
Pretty much what Paul Marcel said.

I honestly like all the prize ideas.  What other tool company is giving away great prizes each month?  Plus, if contest are available here on the FOG that doubles your chances to win something, if you enter. (for NA members)

The FOG contest are fun.  It's like the lotto,  you have to be in in to win it.  If you don't enter then you can't win.
If you don't like the prize then you don't enter.  If people don't enter the contest, then that give the people who do better chances to win  [big grin].

I plan on trying to enter all the contest that I can.  Nothing is free,  so if Festool is going to promot a contest on the FOG, then I have to spend my time to try to win.  I'm doing what I like doing anyways, and that using my Festool tools [wink]

I didn't win the grand prize when I entered the "Demonstation" contest.  BUT,  Festool did send me a shirt AND hat for participating.  [big grin]

So for me that was a win.  I did n ot  ask for it and I did not  expect it.  But it was very much appreciated.

I can't wait to see what kind of contest are in the future.

+1 to internationally open competitions.

I have only seen that one international raffle that was run a year or so ago - have there been others?

There have been two of them. Granted it's been a while. And the forum has seen continual growth, including internationally, since we took ownership.

Honestly, it doesn't take much to get me to participate in anything Festool related.  Given the size of this forum, I was somewhat baffled at why there was so little participation in the last contest both from an entry as well as the voting perspective.  Although I am fundamentally opposed to any form of bribery, perhaps Festool swag to every entry might generate more participation.

Again, worldwide entry's accepted.  As soon as I see a thread with another competition I gloss past it.

What, That systainer contest didnt get much participation?? thats crazy!

I agree with others, it doesn't take much to get me to participate in anything festool related!  [tongue] loved that systainer contest and this months domino w/ct26  [smile]

I love participating in the contests.  It does take effort and I enjoy the process and you have to enter to win.  Would like to see international participation too.  I did like the one contest that had a video entry and a written entry and two draws -- that way folks are encouraged to use whatever means they are comfortable with to enter, allowed to enter both for two chances or one or the other.  The Festool Dollars was a really cool prize last time around too.  I enjoy learning tips and tricks and seeing projects and also the build in process.  These are more interesting than tool reviews.

I really appreciate Festool sponsoring these contests!
