this is looking good.
i cant wait
i like jerome s idea
if instead of winning a specific tool you won any tool from a list. knowing my luck ,if i won i would win a tool i just bought.

I can only add this, I know that there have been formidable obstacles in the past with having international contests - I can't share details - so, if Shane can make this happen I hope every international member participates and makes whatever contest a huge success.

I haven't read the whole thread but I'm thinking a giant wad of Festool bucks that can be used towards any Festool products and/or training.

I'm less interested in one big prize, unless i win it of course :)

I like the idea of smaller "door prizes" for people that don't win first prize. t shirts, rulers etc

Limit participation to one person/household per contest. you loose web page hits but, if someone has entered the same contest 20 times in a month what tangible benefit does corporate get after the first entry?

Offer alternative 1st prizes. for example if someone already has a domino and wins one, give the winner credit towards another festool item.

It really depends what you want out of your contests. converting non festool users, or just to generate interest and web page hits?

Frankly the most difficult first step of getting into the system is that first vacuum/tool buy. getting vacs out into the market place is a good thing.

sponsor online contests of things that were built by users, also local guild/club shows. For example this month the eastern mass guild of woodworkers has a show in conjunction with a gallery. wood craft gave us some prizes.

I like the idea of Festool Bucks - that way the winner can choose the tool they need.  (A lifetime supply  [eek] would be GREAT!)  [big grin]

Maybe throw in a few smaller prizes, like 8mm router bits, Centrotec bits & etc. for another 3 - 3,000 entrants.  [blink]

Well, we have historically had contests every few months or so and the poll was intended to determine what would motivate members and increase participation the next time we have one.
