What Festool Did You buy Today?

@onocoffee What a sensational score!

Wow, our OP shops are nothing like yours by the look, here they're mainly filled with really old clothes, books not worth getting for free, mismatched plates and cutlery, and furniture at obscene prices!

I've donated a lot of construction material and tools to the local ReStore...I've also purchased several items from the store. My best purchase was a Simpson full view exterior fir door with LowE & argon thermopane glass. It retails now for about $1800 and I paid $35 for it. Granted, I had to change the handing of the door and completely refinish it but other than that, it's worked well outside for the last 8 years. You just have to stop in every now and then and help your wallet while also helping your community. :)

@Cheese Because of the Electrical Tag & Testing laws here almost all OP shops won't even take anything with a cord of any type. And if one of them had an item that retailed new for $1800, they'd be selling it at $500 minimum no matter the condition.

This was a bit of a surprise.

Woodcraft of Baltimore celebrated their 2nd Anniversary on Saturday and had a giveaway of the new EcoSystainer - one that I’ve been interested in getting all year and kept asking the reps about their release. And I won! Came with the Festool Graph Pad. Nice!

Awesome score! Congrats! It's like manna from heaven when you win something. ;-)

My local ReStore (the ones I got the SYS-AZ is about 40 minutes away) is like what you both described: typically overpriced. I see 40 year old tools offered for $50 - huh? My local store has two old radial arm saws - a Ryobi that's just the arm and saw, and a Craftsman with the base. Both are priced at $100. I keep thinking that the way to do it is to price the items so you don't think about it. Five bucks, two bucks, whatever is low enough that the person just impulse buys it - especially older tools.

Most of the time, I walk away empty handed. Sometimes, they have decent deals - like a couple weeks ago they had the M12 screwdriver for $45 with battery and bag. Not bad. But once in a while, they have something worth buying, like today. It is very few and far between though and I think dependent on the local area. I would just like to know the story behind why someone had brand new SYS-AZ drawers and a pretty much unused M337 to give away.
If you still see that Ryobi Radial Arm saw at the ReStore, let them know it has been recalled for safety reasons.

Then have them sell/give it to you.

Call Ryobi to send in the motor and collect a nice $50 check for your trouble.

I had to send in my RAS. The one time I sent in the registration card, it actually paid off.

Thanks. If they still have it the next time I'm there, I'll give it a go.
