What Festool Did You buy Today?

This was the guy in Silver Spring? I had seen that up for a bit. He said price was firm but did drop it from $600 to $550. Sounds like you scored a great deal - I was highly considering picking it up from him, but it's a bit of a trek from where I am. Congrats!

It was. Really great guy. Took me a couple weeks to line it up because it's also a bit of a trek for me!

The Diamond blade for abrasive material. New project started today required it.

Found a guy on FB Marketplace willing to sell the Parallel Side Fence FS-PA with the Guide Extensions FS-PA-VL for $150. Everything is in good condition and it has Metric rules, so good deal.

Does anyone know if these ever came in a Systainer? Or do most people just hang them on the wall?

Last week the OF1010 (LED version) with the guide stop fine adjuster, edge guide, trammel jig.  Today the OF1400 with guide stop, edge guide and the 36mm hose.  I've put off these purchases for years.  I could never justify the cost and I've been "satisfied" with my current routers (that's why I waited for the OF 1400 50$US price increase today to buy  [laughing])  But I have sorely missed Festool's ability to integrate with the guide rails and ability to collect dust on many an occassion, and just the quality of their routers and routing accessories in general (I mean . . . who doesn't get satisfaction out of using and high quality, well designed tool?).  I do a lot of edge routing of large oval and roundover profiles that spew chips and fine dust throughout my shop, and I often create or copy templates that require routing MDF.  I've often broken down the MFT, drug my routers, clamping and accoutrements outside in Pennsylvania winters to avoid the mess. . . but there was still a mess on me when I was done (MDF dust in your shoes and down your shirt, anyone  [big grin]).  Also, there are several pieces I've built repeatedly where integration with the guide rails would have saved me HOURS of drudgery.  I'm getting older and more whiney by the day, and in the limited time I do spend in the shop, I want minimize drudgery.  At any rate, first-world problems, I know, especially since I'm a hobbyest.  Happy Holidays everyone.  In that vein, does anyone have suggestions for donating well-cared-for used tools (Bosch Colt with plunge base, Makita RP1101 with fixed and plunge bases)?

Afaik never in Systainer. They are too long for a normal Systainer I think? And perhaps a bit too less voluminous for a Systainer maxi. Systainer Midi and the later Sys3 L and Sys XXL didn't exist when it came out. Not sure if it even fits in an L-size?

I bought a Sys3 L for my MFS 400, but that still only fits when you take it apart.

I'm about to order a new CT Midi extractor for the shop. With the addition of the Kapex 120 this past month that replaced a nearly 30 year old Delta 12" CMS, my plan is to take the venerable CT-22 and largely dedicate it to that tool in honor of its about 20 years of service and use the new extractor near the bench for "all the handheld tools" I connect to extraction.

I got some more sysdraws for christmas, that it self was almost trial by fire to purchase, due to a freight issue at the motherbrands end.
I could order 5 individual draws and get them delivered, but could not order the 5 pack and get that delivered :/
It took a bit for them to fix on the day i ordered them.

Oh and another bt remote for my second hose, and they threw in a free carpenters pencil :)

I have the same two vacs :).  My CT22 started leaking oil in the motor housing a couple years ago (I believe I purchased it in the mid-aughts).  I never shipped it in for repair.  I thought someday I'll be driving by or to Indianapolis and drop it off.  Anyway, I bought the CT MIDI a couple years ago to replace it.  I love the Midi and it's bluetooth capabality.  I highly recommend the remote switch.  I bought it to use with the Shaper Origin, but use it often for small cleaning tasks because it is so convenient, particularly when I'm in "clean-as-I-go" mode or don't want to drag the large Ridgid out.  I also never knew what I was missing until I got the integral hose garage with the Midi.

That kind of thing happens here too, at least with Amazon. I think it has to do with quantity on hand. "Single" items, individually packed for quick pick and pack, may be at one location. Then the factory-packed sets of 5, are in another location, or they don't have any in stock. It does funny things to the ordering system.
I have run into it with 1/4" router bits, where the 5 packs were not in stock, but you could order 5 singles.

With rare exception, I only use the Festool extractors for, um...extraction...and like you I cleanup with a Ridgid vac. I also sometimes use my "multipurpose" DC drop near my flattening table to grab piles of stuff swept up after a big project is complete.

I'm glad you've enjoyed the Midi. It seems like the best option to "replace" my CT22 as the main squeeze at the bench.

BTW...Midi ordered and expected early next week.

I received my first Festool today, a CT 26. Let’s see if she reals me into the Festool system. I’m currently on the DeWALT 20v/60v, Milwaukee M18 and—to a lesser extent—the Bosch 12v battery platforms. I’m pretty happy thus far and don’t imagine I can justify many Festool power tools considering I’m just a homeowner/hobbyist/DIYer with a lot of tools already, but I do see at least one sander and possibly a Domino DF 500 in my future as well. Any suggestions for just one sander?

That is about the same my CT 22 is doing. It's paired to a CS 50. The CT 26 goes on trips with the wall chaser, the Midi goes upstairs, but the 22 lives a passive life below the CS 50

Ya, much like people having put in their years of hard service and then gracefully retiring, the same can be said with machine tools. Here's my CT 22 purchased 16 years ago living out the rest of its life under a home made MFT and being just a general dust collector in the shop as compared to being put on the road daily and being beat to within an inch of its life.  [smile]

[member=44099]Cheese[/member] Cool build. It looks as though these PowerHubs are still available in Europe. Might be something to pickup on my next visit to Germany!

Ya, I'm pretty happy with mine, I've used it for the last 6 years downstairs and am wrestling with producing another one or just moving the one I have outside to the garage. They are pretty handy and provide an easy to reach plug-in point for power and for charging phones and OF 1010 light modules.  [smile]

I'd suggest you just order one from Amazon and if that deal doesn't go through, then consider airfare to Germany.  [smile]
