Bought an HK 55 EBQ but unfortunately after unpacking I noticed the blade cover moved really rough. Removed the blad and saw that the steel cable is damaged and has started fraying...
A bit surprised this get though quality control to be honest.

Been a tad busy with the move to the country and getting life 2.0 sorted. Haven't been buying much Festool (though the other brands stuff for farm life is smashing the bank balance).

There were a few casualties from the move so it time to tidy up the kit, so ....

[attachimg=1]

When I'm done with outside stuff I've got a small laundry to remodel, then a kitchen ... then some furniture. After that the bigger stuff should follow. Don't know what I can justify yet ... but maybe a new Festool or two [big grin]

I wondered why you haven't been posting, good to see your name again mate.

Well I couldnt help myself since I retired today, I thought Id celebrate by getting the VAC SET With the VAC VT Sort and a couple of those container sets that PP demo'd in his storage video. those containers are as he would say brillant they really help organizeing the tool box and the sys MFT and the 3 drawer Sortainers.

So here it is Friday night 7PM SoCal time and I text Bob and he answered and took my order it would be 10pm his time..WoW Bob is awesome
Cant wait to get my lunch clamps on the vacuum

Agreed [member=13058]Kev[/member] - any progress on the shop?

[member=10147]jobsworth[/member] - congrats.  Now you have the time for all those woodworking projects that you've been accumulating.  Isn't that how it's supposed to work?

I dont know if thats how its supposed to work, but it sure is working out that way :>D

Thanks mate it does feel strange, I worked for the USG all those years, it really felt strange turning in my IDs. They were a part of me all that time carried them whereever I went. really strange

Congratulations!  May your retirement allow you to concentrate on all those non-work things you put off, couldn't do, or just plain wanted to do.

Indecision has become my new favourite pastime [embarassed] When we first viewed the place when we were buying it I had a solid plan for the location of the workshop. Now I'm torn on 3 locations and haven't made a final decision. In the mean time I've built a 5x5m shed to get by and do my pondering while fishing [wink] The original location is a ~10 minute walk from the house and I thought I could put a shorter path through a valley - but that appears to be quite a challenge, the second location is much higher with lovely mountain range views .. but my wife wants that space for a studio, so there's a conflict on that spot. The third location is even further from the house and I'm close to squashing that.

bought a drywall sander & vacuum cleaner combo kit
very professional tool, powerful, heavy duty, and good for contractor.

I do not usually post much in this thread, but I picked up a used FT sander off of ebay, and it shows as "being in the post" today.

Are you buying other green things for your farm life, for example JD. Been doing similar to you for a few years now, we have the land but only just starting the exciting stuff like building a garage/workshop and then a house.
