What Festool Did You buy Today?

Yesterday was an expensive day. I bought the Domino XL 700 together with a set of Dominoes. But this purchase was overtrumped by my other tool which I bought yesterday: My new girlfriend Erika.

The Erika is already 5 years old and used, but in mint condition. The previous owner only made about 5 cuts in the past 5 years.

I’m jealous, a few weeks back I was told about an Erika 85 for sale in mint condition. By time I tracked the seller down, he’d sold it the day before for £1000, it had been used for half an hour.
I honestly could of cried.
Anyway, enjoy yours!  ;)

Oh, I can feel you. 1000 Pound is a bargain. I still paid 1900 € or about 1600 Pund (2100 $). But I have been tracking the market for a good used Erika for half a year. There are always quite a few on sale, but usually on the other end of the country. This was the first one in a long time wihtin acceptable range. I didn't hesitate a second...

Just bought the Domino 700 off the recon sale. Since Im taking the architectural door class next month. I thought I might as well get this tool as its the only one they are using in the class I dont have. (Well I dont have the OF1400 but I got the OF2200 which will give me what I want).

I wasnt really ready to buy it yet, But couldnt beat the price. Now I got to get some dominos and maybe the conector set.

Funny, as I had it opened in my browser 5 mins ago and almost purchased it.....

Have to jump on them when you see'em. Half the time they are gone by the time I get the email.

[member=44099]Cheese[/member] I love those connectors, we’ve been doing some exhibition stands just lately. Making them in the workshop, and assembling on site, they’ve been a god-send.

Last week was Festool time!
I bought a CT26, Rotex 150 and a Domino XL700.

I already had a TS55. I might have to go for a Ts75. Once I have that I take a break from buying more Festool:)

I finally bit the bullet and added a CS70-EBG Set to the collection, and the ISC-240 insulation saw set.

Hoping the ISC will replace the bread knife [tongue]

2nd Hand Rotex 150 - needs new pad but $AU50 (US$25) Im happy...came with tloc systainer too!! A clean and retrobrite, it should come up a treat. The negative - 2 hour round trip but a nice day for a drive in the country side :)

I'm new to the Festool family and picked up my first today - a CT36 extractor. It's the old style but it was 20% off at L.V. so I am very happy! I've been using my big Laguna dust extractor but sizing down from a 4" hose to a small hose isn't working that well due to vacuum losses. My doctor is also does woodworking as a hobby and he has stressed the importance of dust collection to me. So, the Festool was high on my list and I had been watching out for a deal for sometime now. The acceptance factor by my S.O. was high for safety reasons - just like my Sawstop. :)

Next up is a TS55 and a Rotex 150. I've already built my Stanton workbench to use with them. :)

i'll list what i've got in the last 2 months as i have just jumped on the festool train..
having a few large jobs coming up, and with it time to replace alot of my older milwaukee gear i have gone a lil nuts over the last 2 months!
domino 500
CT 26 vac
ts 55
kapex 120 ( bought used in perfect condition for 1/3 the price new)
duradrive 2500 dwc ...

thinking about picking up a few more items when my bank account is a lil healthier!!
def very happy with the gear .. has a great feel to it and works flawless

Hi, my name is Jeremy and I have not bought a Festool for two months.

It started about five years ago when I was borrowing some tools from a friend. I found I needed to get some of my own and he introduced me to his dealer. At first it was just a new tool every couple of months, but I was soon caught up in the system. I could no longer hide systainers from my wife. It was starting to impact the kids as they had to get into a cold car parked in outside the garage.

Ok, I admit that I still sneak a few consumables now and again, and I am still a recreational user, but every week I do not purchase a new tool, I feel stronger.

Thanks for listening.

(BTW, what are the thoughts on the CT Cyclone? I could buy a log of dust bags for the price)

[big grin] [big grin] [big grin] Apart from a little suction loss, they work well.

You know it’s customary, that when you buy a new hose, you also buy a new tool to go with it?
I chose a Kapex 120 to accompany my 36mm hose  [big grin] [thumbs up]

After getting te Domino XL and playing with it, I really like that tool. It compliments the 500 and I really am happy i got both.

There is some overlap. they both have 8mm dominos the difference is in the length. So since I wont always need the 12mm to do the job but need something more than the length the 8mm domino the 500 has, I bought the 8mm and some dominos for the XL.
I didnt get the Festool 8mm bit. Instead I ordered the CMT bit. The CMT bit is about 1/3 the price of the festool bit.
Asking around other fellow woodworkers have told me the CMT is just as good as the Festool bit.
So I gave it a shot.

Oh yea I ordered a small roller that broke for my sliding table. They arent cheap. One roller yes one roller, not a set but one roller runs $30 incl shipping.

FYI

Just in case you have to replace your rollers, there are 2 different p/n's. One for the top rollers closest to the sled) and one for the bottem rollers (that rides on the bottem of the sled) the difference is the shoulder for the bolt for the top roller is off set the bottem roller is not.

THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. Festool service (lady i ordered the part from) didnt know this. I did not ask a application specialist. I found out at a road show, I asked Alan Kensley about it. That man knows everything about these tools.

Oh he tool me that just lifting the sled off the track is what will cause you to break/damage the roller its best to slide it all the way off the track.

Oh yea the little stops for the sliding table are $18 if ya need to replace them.
