This arrived today, the Vecturo OSC 18 accessory set:



















I wasn’t sure I’d need these accessories but, now I can see lots of opportunities where they would be very welcomed, and more than useful.
I felt a bit like when I bought my first multi tool, in no time at all, I wondered how I’d managed for ages, without one? Then I remembered the accessory set hasn’t been out for ages  [doh]

Seriously though, I’m very pleased with the set, and the bonus is, although there’s some plastic but, the majority is metal!  [thumbs up]

Huh, although I knew the Vecturo was some Fein clone, I never made the connection of being able to fit the accessory set of the Festool on the Fein  [cool]

Went out and bought a Vac seperator unit. Man I dont know what I did with out it. I also bought some jig saw blades this one is for straight cutting only its thicker then the normal blades and longer than the normal ones. I need it to shorten some 4x4s on a bench I ecently made

Side Extension Table for MW 1000. I could not justify the whole MW 1000 Mobile Workshop Set.

I am finding it more useful in my modest-sized workshop than I expected. For example; instant in-feed support for the CMS router table; instant support for long work piece. Looking forward to trying out an internal corner in which to clamp tricky MFS setups.

When I saw the first press release of the MW1000 I was not sure how good it would be. I then saw one at a show and thought that it was not especially stable.

However, having been using one for 3 months now I have completely changed my mind. I have a modest sized workshop and rely on things being moved around to suit the job in hand. I now routinely have the MW1000 close by with the constructor set in the top pull-out drawer. I have my jointer height at 900 mm and use either my MFT3 or the MW1000 as an outfeed table. I am currently in the middle of making a large dining table from solid oak. Planing the huge lumps of wood has not been easy but using the MFT3 as an outfeed table and then the MW1000 as an intermediate support has worked brilliantly.

...and I forgot to address the stability issue:

99% of the time stability is not an issue but I have found it very easy to push the MW1000 against a door frame or other solid object when I needed it not to move.

As I said, it is a great bit of kit and the extension table has 101 uses.

Just got a MW1000 extension table to use with my MFT3. It does come in handy especially since I’m doing site work for the next couple of weeks.

Didn’t have it room fir 2 MFT 3 in my truck. So this does the job

The extension tables are very good, I’ve profiled a few pieces of timber like the MFT extrusion. I screwed one to my bench, another on a wall, and one outside of the workshop. This enables me to use the extension as a mini MFT. Maybe festool should make a free standing version but, it probably wouldn’t be stable enough given it’s size.

I have two of them, initially I thought they were over priced, not any more though.

[member=65062]DynaGlide[/member] I don’t have a CMS but, I have a couple of MW1000 extension tables.
You could, like I mentioned in an earlier post, profile a piece of timber close to the extrusion of the MFT.
In a post further up, regarding a plunge kit for my Supercut, you can see a MW1000 table, it is perched on one of the profiles I made up, that’s screwed to a stud wall.
If you get the profile right, the table will lock in like ot would on an MFT orthe mobile unit.
You can even just route a V in a piece of timber, and hold the table secure with a guide rail clamp or two.
If the profile is right, or even with a clamp it’s very sturdy.

So, if you can make up a profile that can mount to your CMS, the extension table will couple up.

I've been lusting after the MFK 700 EQ set (edge banding router) for a while.  I forced myself to sell two old Porter Cable routers on Craigslist first before ordering.  I pulled the trigger ten minutes after I handed off the second PC.  Of course the new MFK cost more than I got for the two PCs.  [eek]

I saw a Conturo available on FestoolRecon for $1,661 and had to jump on it.  It arrived and looks great.

I hope to test out both this weekend.
