What Festool Did You buy Today?

I ordered another MFK 700. Now I can dedicate one permanently to horizontal mode. I really do like this router! I think it is my first Festool I have more than one of (barring clamps and rails).

It was my first to have a second unit too. Then I bought the second OF1010, when the updated REQ-F version came out.
That is also using your clamp disclaimer, I have 2 MFT sets, though they are different. The first was the one with the clamping elements and dogs, the second one was the newer set with the hold-fast type clamps.

I chose to put it where the FS 1900 was and make a swinging door to put it in front of the others. It's just an off-cut piece of piano hinge and some scrap ply.

That's clever...I like that. [smile]

Yeah, that's pretty slick....
If only my basement had a higher ceiling.

  • Sys3 L 137 (to store;)
  • MFS-400
  • Festool
  • TS 55 F blades for Laminate/HPL and for Aluminium/Plastics
  • More stuff yet to be delivered

I should have bought it all earlier.  [sad]

A replacement 75” track. Misplaced one three years ago. I got the new style.

The one with place for sticky pads? Because the previous "new" style was 2004  [tongue]

[member=3515]RJNeal[/member]  How was the packaging on your rail?

I received a new style 1400 that arrived in the retail package, open on the top end, and no green sticky things. Also discovered a dented corner on the rail.

The bottom end of retail package is glued together but the top is just folded. The rail fits diagonally across the box. Apparently if turned upside down and banged on one of the two corners not occupied by the rail, the rail can slide out of the box. And UPS won’t bother to put the green things back in or tuck the cardboard flaps back in.

The vendor should at least tape the top of the box before handing it off to the shipper.

That said the retail package does do a pretty good job of protecting the rail from being bent in normal handling. There are two stiff cardboard angle profiles included in the box.

Upcoming shop project starting in two weeks which involves breaking down 48 sheets of 18mm MDF. After working with 2 x 1400's and 1 x 800 since forever, I finally bit the bullet and ordered an FS 2700/2 rail.

What made you choose the 2700 over the 3000?

Huu, I was sure I had seen a Systainer Midi with a MFS inside, but in this Sys³ L 187 it doesn't fit. At least not without modification. Midi and Sys³ L aren't the same of course, but still.

Thank you Michael, I just went out to open the box. It’s all good. I didn’t think there would be a problem because I picked it up at woodcraft in Eugene. The box was in great shape,
Now we’ll see how long the guiderail strip stays on this one.

Ordered and received the STM 1800 from www. BeaverTools.com. Arrived with some parts missing, contacted customer support and they are on their way from Festool.

Not gonna lie, as I'm going through my tools preparing to sell a bunch, I'm starting to regret not grabbing one of these from Recon.  I plan on selling my T-18 E, which was my original justification for not grabbing an energy set.  I should inventory all of my batteries to ease my mind.

Hello all, new to the forum. Qualified carpenter and electrician, but not working as either. Wood working is a hobby.

Took delivery of a ETS EC 150/5 yesterday, to replace a cheap dewalt orbiting 125mm. Can’t wait to try it out, but will have to wait for a few days due to surgery recovery.

This forum is excellent, been lurking so far.

Congrats! That was my first festool sander and I'm still kicking myself for not having done it sooner. I sold all my other palm sanders and don't miss a single one of them. A bit later, I also bought an RTS 400, also a great little sander.
I hope your recovery goes well.

I’ve tried to read up on Festool sanders and I think most people say that; should’ve bought it sooner. This is the first sander I own from Festool, we’ll see if it ends there ;)

I have other machines from Festool, as well as a CTL 36 E AC, so I’m wall aware of the dust collection abilities.

Thanks for the care message :)
