What Festool Did You buy Today?

Picked up the tradesman cleaning kit to go with my CT Midi. Wow that 36mm hose has a lot more suction than the 27mm. I think this will be my TSC 55’s go-to hose moving forward.

Several weeks ago I purchased a Festool SR 400/5 blade to cut mineral wool insulation. The original idea was to modify the blade tang to fit in the jigsaw but after using it in the Sawzall I just didn't have the heart. It just worked too well in the Sawall. It cuts the mineral wool like butter, very smooth & with absolutely no tear-out. I was previously using several Hyde insulation knives which work well for fiberglass but not for mineral wool.
Several days ago I received the Festool DSB 350/W blade to use in the jigsaw but for right now I'm using it in a Blue Spruce jigsaw blade handle instead. Again, this cleanly slices the mineral wool with no drama or concern. I'll switch it to the jigsaw when I need to.

I use an old wavy edge bread knife bought a yard sale decades ago. Remarkable resemblance to the Festool blade.

I purchased a second MFK700 from recon. It will be nice to have two setups without having to change the bit. I really like the ergonomics of these.
That is quite handy. I bought a second one, several years ago, for the very same reason. I keep one permanently setup with the zero-degree base, and the other changes back and forth, as needed.

I leave mine setup to trim edge banding 90%+ of the time. Sometimes I find myself using another router for tasks the MFK700 would be great for just to avoid changing the setup.

Picked up a T18+3 last week. I'd been eyeing one for a while, handled one at a Woodcraft a few weeks back and it fit my hand great. Using it for work some and it has the same great trigger, is very capable, and very quiet. Despite all that, I don't know that it filled any void in my workflow. I've never come across anything negative on it, and don't really see any negatives, but but if my CXS18 falls short I just grab the TPC (or TID) and get it done. I welcome anyone's thoughts.

I have a T18+3 and for me it’s been a great choice. I like the different chuck options. The right angle chuck works great and I have the depth stop chuck. My only other Festool drill is the original CXS. I also have a Dewalt impact. So for me the T18+3 with all the chuck options definitely filled a void and provides lots of flexibility. Very doubtful I buy another drill unless one of these dies or is lost. Hard for me to compare it to the TPC since I have never used one.

Can you still return it within the 30 day window if you decide it’s not needed?

Yes I'm still well within the 30 days. Going to keep using it and see. Thanks for the feedback.

I have never used the 30 day return policy. I have bought a couple that I was not 100% sold on knowing it was an option. I ended up liking and keeping everything. But it’s great to have that extra flexibility

Me neither. I'm not much of a seller. Same with one of my other hobbies. You're correct it's a very nice option that we green lovers have. Hoping I have some opportunities this week and next to really run it.

Be sure to try the right angle chuck. It has been great for me as I mentioned before.

I scored a hold-down clamp ($50)and a used silencer blade ($20) for my Kapex for $70 Cdn from a carpenter who needed a bigger miter saw (Makita), in addition to his Kapex KC60. I couldn't stomach the full price for a new clamp, which is nice to have as a second clamp.

After much deliberation i purchased the CXS18 basic, and a 4Ah battery for my shed. Got the basic as i didnt really need a 3rd festool charger in my shed.
Its nice to not have to go to my van to get one or both of the T18 and TID18.
I havent had much of a chance to play with it yet, but its there now :)

I bought the dust extraction accessory for the Vecturo as I have a Fein Supercut and have the death stop and magnetic guide for vertical cuts that I bought when the Vecturo came out and it was the same as Fein. Turns out the new ones have a bigger radius were it attaches so will not work. Anyone out there looking for the DSC-AV, I’ll give you a deal

Chuck, I have a second clamp. In addition to the second clamp I added a second flag stop on both of my wings. These additions have been great for me. I use both clamps all the time although never at the same time.

Yeah. One clamp at a time only. The second clamp really handy when I want to hold a stop block on the right side of the fence

While I was up at Fine Woodworking New England at Woodcraft of Manchester, I spied that they had the old AB Extractor Hose Set for the CS 70 table saw with the Centrotec hose. This is a short twin hose combination with 27mm and 36mm hoses and a Y-adapter. I've been wanting a 36mm hose for my HL 850 E and thought it would fit the bill. The set was discounted to $64.50 and they even had the D36 DAG-AS rotating connector for $15. Dropped that sucker on the hose and I got a great setup for the planer for $80!
