What is m14 thread type on RAS 115?

I don't own a RAS so I can't check, but I believe Euro M14 grinders usually use M14x2 threads, and I doubt Festool would have diverged from that.

My RAS 115 manual does not say other than M14 "standard" which for grinders is "coarse M14x2".
My Bosch pads fit, as do my FixTec fast chuck.

I have an RAS 115 and can measure the thread pitch for you this evening if you still need it after the two above posts.  I'll post it anyway since it's one more 'sticky' for the rare RAS 115 that we can save here on FOG as needed info.
UPDATE- yes, 2.0mm thread pitch... taking my old pad off to measure the tool’s shaft was a good excuse to swap out with a new pad.  [cool]

In the U.S. - in taking this thread to its logical conclusion (and for posterity), I just discovered that wire wheels, wire cup wheels, etc. , with M14X2 arbor threads are available on Amazon (and likely elsewhere) meaning that the NAINA accessories for the RAS 115 that our brethren across the pond have access to can be effortlessly accessed here too, minus the Festool premium price:

And that's not all. Here's a selection of different density hook and loop pads:

...an abrasive wheel:

And how about a diamond wheel:

Or another style of diamond wheel?

Or, amazingly, a cupped diamond wheel (poor man's Renofix anyone?):

Now if only the narrow finger power file/belt sander attachment wasn't long since discontinued....

I found a few on Amazon with M14 thread. Probably junk quality, they were both less than $40.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing:

Well, no, what I found was a POJ on Amazon, but it claims to be a mini belt sander atachment for a 4.5" angle grinder and have an M14 thread.

[member=60461]Bob D.[/member] - I stand corrected. That's hysterical. I particularly like the pipe clamp feature. But hey, I bet it might do for that one instance where nothing else will reach. Thanks for the heads up!:)

Actually that band file attachment is pretty slick. Here's a Milwaukee produced version that I put on a Milwaukee RA grinder. A drive wheel gets mounted to the grinder arbor and the band file head then attaches to the RA grinder body. It'll take either traditional abrasive belts or non-woven web (Scotchbrite) belts.

I've used this one on wood, plastics, stainless & aluminum.  [cool]

I'll have to see if it fits the RAS. [wink]

I loved my HP rpn calculator, Cheese. Bought it in 1988 and used it daily until last year when the keys finally started to fail. If I could get it cleaned properly it would probably be good for another thirty years.

I have an app on my phone that emulates it so I’m still kind of using it.

I know, crazy huh? I guess if you think of it as a disposable tool it could
be justified, and at that price it wouldn't hurt if it saved you an hour or two.

Hi [member=22]greg mann[/member]  I know the feeling...I'm not looking forward to the day when they go toes-up.  [crying] [crying] [crying]

Luckily for me, I purchased the engineering version first and then when I went on to the marketing end I picked up the financial version. If HP offered a new version of either one I'd purchase two of them in a heart-beat.

Hard to believe that 40+ years later after myriad bouts with coffee, water, soft drinks, falls from the table and saw dust these things still keep running. They are incredible tools.  [big grin]

I have two Milwaukee bandfiles and various arms.  One lives in my shop and the other in my van.  They are great for retrofitting commercial/industrial exit hardware and locks.  I also have the Makita 1" version that I use for wood and glass.  The Milwaukees are also useful for cutouts in glass and tile.

Having now had a chance to view this accessory on a large screen (not my phone) I am going to retract my earlier contempt and instead announce my intrigue:
=49

At first, I overlooked the integral dust port:

Knowing now that it has an allowance for dust extraction piques my interest. As a result, I'm going to add this to my "must have" list since I can envision lots of instances where an add-on tool like this will come in quite handy. Plus, for

[member=44099]Cheese[/member] - Do you happen to have a part number for the Milwaukee band file accessory? Is it this one?
https://www.ereplacementparts.com/bandfile-head-assembly-kit-p-135982.html

Also, did it happen to fit the RAS 115 arbor? If not, can you upload a photo of the threaded adapter? If it's not to convert from a U.S. standard to M14 then I'm wondering if a tool (like the RAS 115) with an M14 arbor can fit the attachment minus the need for an adapter.
Thx. :)
