What is the best site for purchasing Festool?

I have purchased from several online Festool vendors and the majority of my experiences have been positive.

US Tool and Fastener has been my number one option for a while now. A few years ago, I placed an order from them and the order was damaged during shipping. Ryan at US Tool exceeded my expectations addressing the problem and getting it corrected.

Shane and Toolnut are excellent as well.

I soured on Toolnut after the Pro 5 debacle, which was not their fault, but some poor communication that was. Others have had very positive experiences with them, including friends of mine, so I am entirely prepared to believe mine was a one-off experience. But nonetheless, I vote on customer service with my wallet. These days, Lee Valley and Highland Hardware get most of my Festool money.

I found Nirvana (Chicago area) has excellent customer service.  I sent a question late one night expecting to get the answer the next day-Chip answered me within minutes.  His Niece models the Festool shirt-cute touch.  They are also quick to get deliveries out.  I just recently discovered them, but expect to order more from them in the future.  I like their website.

If  you are in the New Orleans area, a dealer I just discovered in that area is Industrial Products.  I only ordered once, and in my case it went well.  This is one of those "less known" dealers that I like to take a chance on.

I ordered once from Burns Tools and was impressed by their follow-up.  They meet my OCD requirements on follow-up while most do not.

[member=665]JohnnyEgo[/member], apologies if you didn't receive adequate communication on the PRO 5 situation. As I recall, we sent emails with updates to all effected customers every 3-4 weeks with updates based on the information being provided by Festool USA. If you had unsubscribed, you would not have received those emails. I certainly understand the frustration of our customers in the very lengthy delivery delays due to Festool overselling that promotion. It was a frustrating situation for us, too.

I actually feel like we do a good job in over-communicating on extended backorders with our customers, always sending emails with updates. That said, we're always eager to hear feedback on how we can improve. I hope you give us another chance in the future.

Hey Shane. Yep, it was a debacle for everyone, and I am sure your team had to take a lot of heat for things entirely out of your control. My frustration was not the long delays, it was that I got a notice that my sander finally shipped, only for it to not have actually shipped. Twice. The second time it happened, I really wasn't happy.  And neither was the person who answered my call. Let's just say it was clear that his well of human empathy had run dry. I don't usually spend very long in unproductive conversation outside of my job, where I am at least paid to be there.  I figure my economic choices speak for me more effectively with less frustration on my end.

That said, the Pro 5 was a long time ago, and I appreciate your effort in acknowledging my disappointment while still defending your business.  That's a tough line to navigate.  I intend to order several Festool items after the holiday, and I will throw Toolnut in the mix for some of it and see how things go.

I've ordered from Toolnut, Acme, ToolsPlus and go local on most all non-festool.  So far I've found the best one for me has been FestoolNirvana as that's all the guy does in Festool and is small and super customer oriented.https://www.festoolnirvana.com/

Have you been to Timbers?
Its in the east valley, they do have a good selection of FT best Ive seen here in the phoenix area.

However their customer service absolutely blows. I went there once never again and now I order from Don at Anderson Plywood.

Also in the New Orleans area: PMC Tool (The Festool Superstore) has a huge superstore and great service. They are a couple miles West of Hammond on Hwy 190.They also service the lumber industry.

Their customer service is outstanding, and have TWICE helped me with a Mirka sander that I had bought elsewhere before I found them.

I highly recommend US Tool & Fastener, which is based in Worcester MA. (They only charge sales tax to MA residents.) In mid-December 2020, they had stock on most Festool tools and parts, which was in contrast to many other dealers across the country. They were quick to respond to my inquiries. They also shipped my order very quickly, and it arrived very quickly.

FestoolNirvana, which is located in IL, only charges sales tax to residents of IL. Their stock levels were significantly lower than US Tool & Fastener, but they did have one tool that was out of stock at USTF.

I can attest to this. I was searching fora Domino DF 500 and noone else had it. Searched the web snd found their website, called them to make sure in stock and ship before end of year for business purposes. Had it a week later. Sales tax on $1000 tool can quickly add up. Just wish I found them a few days earlier before spending $1200 for a different Festoo product elsewhere

I've had nothing to complain about ordering from Klingspor.  They do not tax out of state (NC) orders and charge just $7 for shipping, even on the 118" TS guide rail.
You actually had a good result from shipping a 3000 rail? I held off quite a while in buying one because of the concern of shipping damage and the hassle of replacing it after.
I finally got it through a local supplier who didn't actually keep them in stock, so it took a few days.
It was a game changer in the very next project though, so the timing worked out well.

It's true!  Packed in cardboard with styrofoam and 1x random pine strips for support, it arrived undamaged.  The fun comes in keeping it that way.
