Hello,

I have T18 and CXS drill.  I am looking at depth stop chucks and there seems to be 2 that work for the T18, 493539 FastFix Depth Stop Chuck and 769126 Depth Stop Chuck.

What is the difference between them from a user perspective?  They both seem to work on the T18 and do the same thing.  If you have both, which do you prefer, or is there a case for getting both?  Thank you.

The 769126 is made for the PDC 18. I don't know its compatability with the a T18. I'm sure someone with more knowledge can chime in here.

Model 493539 is the older model and only fits C-T style drills.

Model 769126 is FastFix and will fit all drills C-T-PDC-DRC- and even TXS-CXS models.

Hi,

493539 is for C/T Drills only and can only be used with 1/4" hex bits.

769126 is for C/T, PDC (and other) Drills, can be used with 1/4" hex bits, as well as sockets ( Use with Hex head self-drilling screws (with sealing ring) for example.) Comes with exchangeable stopp sleeve. Also has a rubber ring out front, won't leave marks when pressed against "sensitive" materials.

None of them will work with the CXS. - Seems I stand corrected, 769126 should work with CXS, Sorry.

Kind regards,
Oliver

Oliver I thought you knew better.
All FastFix chucks fit all Festool drills, so also the TXS-CXS models.
I use it every time I use dry-wall screws.

Hi @Neeleman
Looks a little front heavy. [emoji6]

Do you use this just for one-offs? Or for all your drywall work? [emoji15]

Yes it's front heavy but you still have to hold the screw with your other hand so then there a balance.
And yes I only use it for one offs.
For screwing complete wall or ceilings I use a DWC 18-4500 which is a one hand operated tool even without using the trigger.
Just pushing the tool releases the screw!

Some days ago I also compared the DD-DC (493539) and the DC UNI FF (769126).

From my point of view the important points are:

DD-DC has a metal stop, the DC UNI FF a soft rubber stop.
I suppose that the DD-DC could cause some marks on softer materials.

I have a T18+3 and CXS drill.
Both fit on the T18+3. But DD-DC does not fit on CXS and DC UNI FF does fit on CXS.

When you want to back out a screw you have to turn a ring at the DD-DC.
At the DC UNI FF you have to remove the front part of the chuck.
It is a little bit tricky to attach it afterwards.

I decided to by the DC UNI FF.

Until now I only tried it for a couple of screws. So I cannot share any experience in real use.
