Pugilato,
In my opinion, I think you nailed it in your "penchant for suing". Unfortunately we do live in a very litigious society, with a sadly growing victim attitude and sense of entitlement mentality. Though more than 90 percent of the people out there I believe are good, it's that small percentage that makes it difficult for companies selling products here to go to the trouble to go through all the hoops to sell their product here.
A couple of examples from opposing sides of the pond.
That side of the pond...
1) I took my family to Spain last year and remember being on the top of a castle ruin wall with a 2 story drop and only a thin metal cable 3 feet off the floor as the only "barrier" from falling plus a little sign in Spanish warning of the risk. The message, we'll show you where the line is but we trust that you as an adult, and a parent if you have children, will recognize the inherent risk up here and take some responsibility for your own actions.
This side of the pond
2) When they came out with the folding cardboard sun blockers for your windshield in the US some time ago, (you unfolded them to cover your entire windshield and try and deflect some of the heat from the sun when you park your car outdoors); In big, red, bold, capital, letters on the inside it read (I kid you not)
REMOVE BEFORE DRIVING! FAILURE TO DO SO COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY!
Really!?!?!?!?! - Are you kidding me?
Final word because the soapbox is starting to tip. [smile] A friend of mine described those 10% of the people mentioned above with a great quote. (I preface it by repeating, I only think it's that 10% or less, I still believe there is more opportunity here for those that are willing to work than anywhere else)
"We are the only country in the world where a young couple can be on their way to a protest, about a proposed cut in their welfare payouts, and a proposed cut in their government hand out programs, and get to the protest late , because they got into a big argument beforehand, as to which of their 3 cars they were going to drive to the protest.
Soapbox cracked - too many Big Mac's. Let's not even go there! Jay Leno took care of that whole issue in his monologues.LOL
But wait! There's more! [mad]
Saw a bumper sticker last week that said.
"Honk if I'm paying your mortgage"
To be fair, though, both sides have more pluses than minuses by far, you just only hear about the minuses...
OK soapbox collapsed completely now.
So back to the original thread...
"And that pumpkin (2 young, wonderful, daughters

), is why Daddy can't get his CMS right now" [big grin]
