Purchased an EGO 56V cordless hedge trimmer and used it for about an hour already on a single charge.  I was leery of cordless yard tools but after having used the EGO blower for 6 months on a near-daily basis to blow sand, bugs, leaves and typical desert stuff off of the patio, courtyard and driveway, I decided to try the trimmer.  So far I'm very impressed.  One inch / 25mm cutting diameter with ease and the smallest 2.5Ah battery makes it light and now with two batteries, I'm not worried about running out of power half way through the job.

Both of these tools have brushless motors and I definitely see the longer run times associated with them.

I don't miss my trusty good old Stihl gas powered equipment any longer.

The EGO yard tools have met my needs. I  have the mower, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, and chainsaw. Recently picked up the string trimmer and it's OK but rotation is opposite of my last trimmer and not sure I like it. Other that that it's fine and has plenty of power. I have cut my entire lawn (19K SF) on one charge with the 7.5 AH battery. I did it a couple times just for kicks, usually I use the mower for trimming and tight spots I can't get into with the riding mower. Like you my Stihl equipment sits in the shed unused for now. Maybe next year when I feel confident that I can rely on battery power alone I will sell them off.

Not actually today, but last week…

this little Veritas Edge Trimming Plane.

I deliberated long over ‘right-‘ or left-hand’. This seems, to me, to be more about the orientation in which one wants to use it, and how it fits one’s hand than whether the user is left or right-handed. I’m told it also works well as pull-plane, Japanese style. Haven’t used it yet, so can’t say if will be super-useful, end up staying in the drawer, or whether I’ll also be buying the ‘right-hand’ version!

Three seasons ago I went all EGO - nice choice!

Collins Coping Foot and Festool blades for Carvex.  FastCap Crown Clips.

Collins Bunny Planes - I have wanted them for years but they have been hard to get.  But they are available now!  Great experience ordering directly from them and dealing with humans versus computers!

Note:  The $20 bill is not included in the package.  Just there for size reference.

Another Milwaukee Rover LED light purchase. After seeing the above posts I had to have one. I originally was going to buy the 2112-21 stick light shown above but saw the 2114-21 pivoting base 10 LED 550 lumens right next to it. I'm a sucker for lights...to me lights are like clamps - never have enough of them:

I think we all have a little bit of a flashlight fetish. As a kid how many comic books did you read by flashlight when you were supposed to be asleep. That's where it all started. :-)

Did I hear someone say flashlight?  [eek] [scared] [big grin]

That's a cool light [member=4518]Mike Goetzke[/member] ! Wish Milwaukee was more readily available over her.

Kind regards,
Oliver

No Oliver,  NO!

You have enough flashlights.  [big grin]

I don‘t want to put Surfix-Oil on the flames here... ;)

BUT, I recently made a business trip to the US and used the journey to acquire some tools.
INCLUDING the brilliant Milwaukee Rover Flashlight!
@six-point socket II
It runs on 2xAA, has two Magnets and a clip.
I love it as an addition to the two battery powered Syslites. :)

Just say the word and I’ll put it in a box!

Received some benefits from the Prime Day deals.  I'm really liking the few Wera tools that I have.  At first I thought these might be a bit gimmicky, but they are super handy and can be packed easily in any tool bag or mini T-Loc

I especially like that the 100mm Rapidaptor can be removed from the handle and used with a drill driver. I'll probably replace some of the three slotted bits with square drive bits.

My set of Stabila levels arrived from ToolNut today. But it's 10:30 PM and I just got home from over 500 miles driving to help a friend pick up a motorcycle he just bought so I'll have to unbox them tomorrow. Traffic around NYC was terrible. Lost an hour at the Tappan Zee bridge on the way back. And the temp was 97° so that made it fun. Glad the AC in my truck didn't quit on us.

You lost an hour at the Tappan Zee?  Are both of the new spans open now?
